🏒 Sabres vs. Bruins Prediction & Odds: Game 6 NHL Picks Today (May 1)
Last Updated: May 1, 2026 8:48 AM EDT • 4 minute read X Social Google News Link
After narrowly missing a chance to eliminate the Boston Bruins in Game 5, the Buffalo Sabres look to finish the deal when they visit TD Garden Friday for Game 6.
My Sabres vs. Bruins prediction expects Buffalo to do exactly that as a small favorite, but my stronger opinion for Friday's contest (7:30 p.m., ESPN and Sportsnet) is the Under 5.5. Read on for more details, a final score prediction and a player prop bet.

🏆 Who will win Sabres vs. Bruins?
I'm taking the Sabres to edge Boston by a goal in a tight-checking affair Friday. Buffalo has proven for months that it can grind out low-scoring victories on the road, and the Bruins' scoring depth has been extremely thin this series outside of David Pastrnak and the injured Viktor Arvidsson.
Score prediction: Sabres 2, Bruins 1

💰 Sabres vs. Bruins prediction & best bet
Under 5.5 (+100)
Each game in this series has seen a team go into the third period with one goal or less on the scoreboard. Checking is only getting tighter as the series goes along, with the teams combining for just three goals and 55 shots in nearly 70 minutes of hockey in Game 5.
Boston's best chance to prolong the series is to keep things as low-scoring as possible, and Buffalo has not allowed more than two goals in a road victory since February 3. Look for another low-scoring affair in Game 6, a bet I'd play down to -110.
🔥 Best Sabres vs. Bruins player prop bet
Jason Zucker Over 0.5 goals (+320)
Even in a game where I'm not expecting many goals to scored by either team, the value on Zucker is too good to pass up.
He earned his point of the series in Game 5, but Zucker has been dangerous throughout Round 1. He's registered at least 0.3 expected goals in three of the five games, he's attempted 27 shots, and the Sabres have enjoyed 71% of the shot attempts when he's been on the ice, per Moneypuck.
Elimination games are when veterans often come through, and it shouldn't be a surprise to see Zucker - who also enjoys extensive powerplay time - come up with a big goal Friday for Buffalo. FanDuel's +320 odds are more than enough for a small play on one of the league's smallest players, and I'd play this down to +300.
🚀 Sabres vs. Bruins same-game parlay
With the Under being my favorite betting angle for Friday, I'm not looking to back players in the goals and points markets on my Same Game Parlay. In fact, I'll bet against Elias Lindholm recording a point after he was taken off David Pastrnak's line in Game 4.
To round out my SGP for Game 6, I'm backing on Alex Tuch to continue generating opportunities, even if he doesn't convert them. The -170 odds on Tuch Over 2.5 shots won't return much on a standalone wager, but it's worth adding as an SGP leg, considering that Tuch has recorded at least three shots in four of five playoff games.
💵 Sabres vs. Bruins SGP picks
- Under 5.5 (+102)
- Alex Tuch Over 2.5 shots (-180)
- Elias Lindholm Under 0.5 points (-160)
Best odds: +532 via DraftKings (0.2u -> 1.06u)
💡 How I'm betting Sabres vs. Bruins
Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.
The Under is my strongest betting opinion for Game 6, so it'll be my largest wager as well. By risking a full unit on the Under 5.5 at even odds, a win on the Under would lock in a profit even if the rest of my smaller bets lose.
Those smaller plays include a half-unit on the Sabres moneyline, the maximum I'm willing to stake for a game that could easily come down to a bounce either way. I'm also sprinkling 0.2 units on Zucker as a darkhorse in the anytime goal market and another 0.2 on a Same Game Parlay built around a low-scoring contest.
📊 Live Sabres vs. Bruins odds: Game 6
Oddsmakers are showing Buffalo more respect for Game 6 than for the previous two games in Boston, when the Sabres were small underdogs. FanDuel opened Buffalo as -113 favorites and also adjusted the total down to 5.5 after opening it at 6 for Games 3 and 4. Early action backed the Over 5.5, moving the juice up from -115 to -122, but I'm expecting those odds to shorten prior to puckdrop.
