The Boston Bruins hope to continue their recent domination of the Pittsburgh Penguins when the teams meet on Black Friday at TD Garden, and it's an earlier-than-usual puck-drop at 6:30 p.m. ET( Sportsnet).

Boston has won five of the last six meetings with Pittsburgh, scoring at least four goals in five of those contests.

The Bruins are also 14-3 in their last 17 home games against the Pens, who have struggled to keep the puck out of their net all year on the road.

Our Penguins vs. Bruins prediction likes Boston to build on its improved play under interim head coach Joe Sacco with a strong offensive performance tonight.

Boston’s midseason coaching change has brought immediate results, as the Bruins are 3-1 under Sacco, outshooting the Vancouver Canucks 32-14 in their lone loss during that stretch.

On Wednesday in Long Island, the Bruins exploded for six goals against the New York Islanders, matching the number of markers they’d managed in their previous five games combined.

Boston’s big guns did most of the damage with David Pastrnak and Elias Lindholm recording three assists each while Pavel Zacha and Brad Marchand both had a pair of goals.

They’ll have a great opportunity to build on that momentum against the Penguins, whose 3.96 goals-against average ranks dead last in the NHL. Pittsburgh’s been especially awful defensively on the road, giving up at least four goals in eight of 11 games as the visitor.

Boston has also enjoyed plenty of offensive success against the Penguins in recent years, scoring at least four goals in four straight meetings and five of the last six.

Pavel Zacha prop bet: Over 0.5 Points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -110 via Betway | Implied probability: 52.4%

After putting up 116 points in his first two seasons as a Bruin, Zacha has managed just 10 through 24 games of the 2024-25 campaign. However, he snapped out of a six-game scoring slump in a big way on Wednesday, keying the Bruins’ 6-3 victory with a pair of third-period goals and an assist.

Zacha is one of the Bruins who appears most rejuvenated under Sacco, firing 14 shots on net in Boston’s first four games since Jim Montgomery was fired. That total nearly matches the 16 he’d recorded in his first nine games of November.

Expect Zacha to continue his momentum Friday against a team he has thrived against in recent action. The veteran center has posted multi-point performances in three of his last four games against the Penguins.
