Most of the league is in action on Tuesday, as my NHL predictions today provide three top picks from the 11-game slate.

I'm fading a league-worst Canucks team on the road in Anaheim, while also offering a best bet for Bruins vs. Hurricanes and my favorite player prop of the day.

NHL best bet today

Ducks -1.5 (+115 via BetMGM)

Vancouver has plenty of multi-goal defeats already this season, and the Ducks will add another to that total on Tuesday.

The Canucks have been horrendous on their end, ranking dead last in the NHL in goal differential. Those defensive struggles show up in the underlying numbers too: Vancouver ranks 32nd in expected goal differential by a comfortable margin, per MoneyPuck.

The Ducks are a much strong team on home ice and haven't played since Saturday afternoon. They're rested, and they'll win by multiple goals tonight to cover the spread. I'd bet this at anywhere better than +105 odds.

📡 SBR Edge: Canucks can't keep up

The NHL's worst team has lost 10 games in a row - seven of which by multiple goals.

More NHL picks & predictions

Bruins vs. Hurricanes Under 6.5 (-125 via DraftKings)

This is Tuesday's marquee matchup between two teams that have come out of the gate on fire. Beyond their excellent records, these clubs share another thing in common: elite defensive structures.

The Bruins and Hurricanes rank second and fourth, respectively, in goals allowed per game. Going back to early 2023, seven of their previous 10 matchups finished Under 6.5 goals.

Paying to get above 6 goals gives us some important extra wiggle room, as there's always a risk of a late-stage empty-netter or garbage-time goal forcing a push on a 6-goal total. DraftKings offers good value at -125 odds on Under 6.5, but I'd pass if that price reaches -130.

Seth Jones 2+ shots on goal (-114 via FanDuel)

Seth Jones is getting a ton of pucks on net for the Panthers, ranking third among NHL blue-liners in shots-on-goal per game. He's tallied at least two shots on goal in 75% of his games this season.

Tonight's matchup against Winnipeg profiles as another solid opportunity for Jones to maintain that strong average. The Jets are tied for the fifth-most SOG allowed to defensemen per game, according to ShotPropz.

I bet Jones to finish with 2+ shots at FanDuel's -114 odds, but there's value paying up to -120.
