My NHL predictions today feature two of the three games on tap. I’m backing Leon Draisaitl to score his 13th of the season and get back on level terms atop the goal-scoring chart with Kirill Kaprizov.

That’s not my only pick from the Red Wings vs. Oilers contest, as I expect Connor McDavid to notch his 10th multi-point game of the season. My lone pick from the Maple Leafs vs. Flames game focuses on William Nylander.

NHL best bet today

Leon Draisaitl anytime goal (+110 via DraftKings)

Draisaitl has netted 12 goals in 11 games, which is an absurd total that puts him on course for 77. He has scored two goals in each of his last three games, including a pair against the Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, and Minnesota Wild.

He failed to light the lamp in three of 11 games, two of which occurred on the road. The only home game he didn’t score was in the season opener against the Vancouver Canucks. Since then, he has scored eight in five games at Rogers Place.

The Red Wings, meanwhile, conceded four goals in two of their previous three road contests.

📡 SBR Edge: Draisaitl Loves Playing the Wings

Draisaitl has scored in five of the previous seven meetings with the Red Wings and four of the last five. He netted in three of the previous four against Detroit at Rogers Place.

More NHL picks & predictions

Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points (-135 via BetMGM)

I’m surprised BetMGM is still offering -135 odds for McDavid to tally at least two points. McDavid, on pace for an unprecedented 252 points, scored at least two points in nine of 11 contests. The Oilers’ captain enters on a four-game multi-point streak, notching 15 in the sample size.

He failed to register at least two points just once in six tries at Rogers Place. That one-point outing came against the Utah Mammoth on Oct. 15. And if you’re wondering, McDavid has also been prolific against the Red Wings, notching 20 points in the previous 10 meetings.

That includes a four-point outing the last time the Red Wings played in Edmonton.

William Nylander Over 1.5 points (+230 via bet365)

Nylander is second on the Maple Leafs with 18 points in 13 games. He registered two points in two of the previous three outings, including a two-goal outing in Edmonton on Saturday.

While he has only five multi-point outings thus far, Nylander is historically exceptional against the Flames. He has at least two points in six of the previous eight meetings with Calgary, amassing 21 points in that sample.

Nylander will be sad to see the Saddledome go after this season, as he has 12 points in his previous four visits to the NHL’s oldest building (without any renovations). If you’re feeling more risk averse, go with Nylander to notch at least one assist (-140 at FanDuel).
