We have almost a week of the NBA season to draw from, and my NBA best bets today feature three lines that look off to me.
I target the underdog in the early Wizards vs. Hornets matchup, which tips off at 7 p.m. ET. My NBA picks also feature a pair of Overs on players in the Suns vs. Thunder and Grizzlies vs. Jazz matchups, which tip off at 8 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET, respectively.

Best NBA bet today
Wizards vs. Hornets prediction: Wizards +2.5 (-115)
The only thing really working against the Wizards is their 10-point home loss to the Raptors Friday, but Toronto was a somewhat underrated team entering the regular season, so I'm not holding that against Washington.
The Hornets are still without Kon Knueppel and Coby White, who each averaged more than 15 points per game last season, so I don't know how this spread is 2.5. Even if you give Charlotte 1.5 points for home-court advantage, which I wouldn't, this spread still implies the Hornets are 1 point better than the Wizards.
I'll take the points with Anthony Davis and Trae Young.

Suns vs. Thunder prediction: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 30.5 points (-110)
The Thunder's No. 2 option on offense, Jalen Williams, is out, so Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will have even more opportunities to get up shots.
Per StatMuse, Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged 31.9 points per game without Williams in the lineup and has attempted 20.3 field goals per outing. Usually, the risk with betting Gilgeous-Alexander's Over on points is that he sits the fourth quarter when the Thunder are winning in a blowout. However, with the Suns being healthier than the Thunder, I'm expecting a tighter game than the 9.5-point spread suggests.

Grizzlies vs. Jazz prediction: Ty Jerome Over 26.5 points (-115)
Yes, Ty Jerome is leading the NBA with 34.7 points per game, but that's not why I'm betting him in this spot. This is more of a bet against the Jazz's perimeter defense than a bet on Jerome. He just so happens to be the most likely player to benefit.
The Jazz have a big frontcourt, with Lauri Markkanen entering at 7-foot-1 and Jaren Jackson Jr. being an elite rim protector. So, teams usually rely on their starting guards to attack the Jazz defense, and Utah has been getting torched. Luka Doncic just scored 52 points in Salt Lake City Sunday, and Jerome dropped 45 against the Jazz in their season opener.
