The Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers clash Tuesday in the Sunshine State, and we're featuring our best Maple Leafs vs. Panthers player props and predictions based on the best NHL odds.

Tuesday's NHL contest between the Toronto Maple Leafs (46-24-10) and Florida Panthers (51-24-6) features two of the favorites by the latest Stanley Cup odds, and it could be a dress rehearsal for a potential first-round playoff matchup. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) from Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla.

With Auston Matthews on the prowl for his 70th goal and the Florida Panthers still hunting for the Atlantic Division crown, Tuesday's game has more storylines than an Oscar-nominated drama.

The Panthers trail the Boston Bruins by a single point in the Atlantic Division, but they hold the tiebreaker advantage with more regulation wins. Should both teams finish the season tied on points, the Panthers would secure the division title, ensuring they face a different opponent in the first round of the playoffs and avoid the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, Boston faces the lowly Ottawa Senators at home in its last game on Tuesday.

Here are our best Maple Leafs vs. Panthers player props and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Maple Leafs vs. Panthers prop bet prediction

Auston Matthews Over 4.5 shots (-134 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Matthews is so close to the 70-goal threshold that he can taste it. And so can his teammates. The best way for the Maple Leafs' sniper to achieve what nobody else has since Teemu Selanne and Alexander Moginly in 1992-93 is to let the rubber fly. Expect Matthews to fire the puck more than Donald Trump did people on The Apprentice (sorry if that reference ages me).

Matthews had 10 shots on goal in the last game against the Detroit Red Wings. With at least five shots in seven of the previous 11 games, Matthews is hellbent on getting to 70. He also broke the five-shot threshold in two of three against the Panthers this season.

His teammates will be as motivated, so expect the Maple Leafs' assassin to be fed more than a UFC fighter looking to move up a weight class. Betway offers -134 odds for the wager, which, on a winning $10 bet, would pay out $17.46. It comes with an implied probability of 57.26%.

Panthers to win + Matthews Over 0.5 points (+110 via Betway) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Panthers have won three in a row, rebounding after a poor stretch during which they lost nine of 12. They're at home and still have a lot to play for. Yes, it will take a minor miracle for the Senators to beat the Bruins in regulation, but it is possible. The Panthers will do everything they can to win the Atlantic Division, which means beating a Maple Leafs team already locked into second place.

Matthews has at least a point in the last four games, notching 25. The likelihood of it being a goal is much higher, but that will be inconsequential as far as this bet is concerned. Matthews has 25 points in 25 games against Florida, including three the last time the teams met. The +110 odds will pay out $21 on a winning $10 bet, with an accompanying probability of 47.62%.

Under 6.5 goals (-120 via Betway ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Panthers allow the second-fewest goals per game (2.42) and have conceded just four in the previous five. They secured three shutouts in that handful of games. If it's a dress rehearsal for a first-round matchup against the Buds, Florida will be highly motivated to suppress the Maple Leafs' potent attack.

Two of the previous three head-to-head encounters went under, except a 6-4 Maple Leafs win, occurring in Toronto on April 1. The other two games had seven combined goals. A $10 winning bet will pay out $18.33 and comes with an implied probability of 54.55%.
