I'm hunting for value in Friday's light three-game hockey slate as I offer my NHL predictions today. My best bet includes new Devils netminder Connor Hellebuyck facing off against a familiar opponent.
I'm also taking the Over on the league's No. 1 Over team, alongside my favorite player prop of the night.

NHL best bet today
Golden Knights ML (-112 via BetMGM)
The vibes are high in New Jersey after the Devils won Connor Hellebuyck's first start with his new team this week. But the Golden Knights have been a nightmare opponent for the three-time Vezina Trophy winner, especially in Las Vegas.
Hellebuyck is 9-17 as a starter against the Golden Knights in his career. While wins and losses aren't on a goaltender alone, his save percentage (.901) and goals against average (3.17) are both significantly worse against Vegas than his usual averages.
The Golden Knights are 6-2 at home this season, and I'm backing them to pick up another victory at T-Mobile Arena against Hellebuyck's Devils. I bet a full unit on the Golden Knights moneyline at BetMGM -112 odds.

Seattle has played high-event hockey throughout this season, scoring and being scored on often. Kraken games are 10-3 to the Over this season, including 5-2 on the road.
Tonight in Calgary, they face a Flames squad that ranks second-worst in goals against average. The Flames will be in even worse shape if they're without goaltender Devin Cooley, who exited Calgary's previous game.
It's been more than two weeks since a Kraken game finished Under 6, making this Over a comfortable half-unit wager for me at BetMGM's -125 odds.

The Panthers' power play has been lethal, and Florida's top offensive blue-liner is a significant reason for that success. Seth Jones has nine power-play points across his last eight games.
He's coming off a three-assist effort against the Jets on Tuesday, two of which came on the man advantage. He faces the Jets again tonight, with Winnipeg now ranking 22nd in the NHL on the penalty kill.
This is the perfect time to profit off the Panthers' power play. I see Jones as the top target to do so, which I bet at BetMGM's +180 odds.
