My best Auburn vs. Ole Miss prediction highlights why I'm expecting these teams to combine for a lot of points on Saturday. Though No. 12 Ole Miss will be without running back Kewan Lacy, the passing attack should have no trouble moving the ball against a struggling secondary.

Ole Miss is favored by 13.5 ahead of Saturday's 12:45 p.m. ET game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. The game will air on SEC Network and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

Over 57.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

Ole Miss is averaging 36.0 points per game, which ranks sixth in the SEC. Though the Rebels won't have Lacy, this is a pass-first offense, as Trinidad Chambliss has Ole Miss averaging 284.9 passing yards per game. That's the second-most in the SEC.

Auburn ranks ninth in the SEC in scoring defense, allowing 24.1 points per game. However, Auburn ranks 16th in total defense, allowing 396.9 yards per game. Auburn has really struggled against the pass, allowing 250.9 yards per game, which is the third-worst mark in the conference. Last week, Sam Leavitt completed 32 of his 45 passes for 387 yards and three touchdowns.

📡 SBR Edge: Ole Miss struggles against the run

Ole Miss has allowed 12 runs of 20 or more yards, seven runs of 30 or more yards, and five runs of 40 or more yards. No other SEC team has allowed more than four runs of 30 or more yards or two runs of 40 or more yards. Auburn leads the conference in runs of 20 yards or more.

The Ole Miss defense has struggled all year

The Ole Miss defense is among the worst in the SEC. While the unit allows just 25.3 points per game, that average is heavily influenced by holding Missouri to 3 and Charlotte to 9. Ole Miss has allowed at least 24 points in four of its six games against Power 4 teams, giving up more than 30 three times.

Additionally, Ole Miss is allowing the most rushing yards per game (161.14) in the SEC and the third-most yards per carry (4.13). I expect an Auburn offense that is averaging 165.43 rushing yards per game to find plenty of room on the ground on Saturday.

Play to: Over 60.5

Score prediction: Ole Miss 38, Auburn 28
