Entering their Week 15 matchup, the Detroit Lions and New York Jets are each seeded ninth in their respective conferences. Read on for our Lions-Jets NFL picks.

The Lions have won five of their last six games following a 1-6 start and have averaged 29.3 points per game in that torrid six-game stretch. Detroit has scored 25-plus points in five consecutive games for the first time since 2011-12 and has tied a team record by scoring at least 30 points in seven games this season.

The Jets enter Week 15 having lost consecutive games for the first time this season. Their 20-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills last week was their eighth straight road loss to an AFC East opponent. It was a costly loss, as New York fell out of the AFC’s No. 7 seed, and FiveThirtyEight gives the Jets a 33% chance to make the playoffs.

Lions vs. Jets Pick

Under 44.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lions quarterback Jared Goff has eight touchdowns and zero interceptions over the last five games, and his stellar play is a big reason the Lions have averaged nearly 30 points per game over the previous month and a half. However, Detroit has been fortunate to play three consecutive home games in the last three weeks. Its two road games before that, where it averaged 31 points, were against less-than-stellar defenses (Chicago Bears and New York Giants).

Entering last week, when using a standard pass rush (since Week 4), New York’s defense ranked first in sacks (26), interceptions (10), and QBR allowed (30). The Jets’ cornerback duo of D.J. Reed and Sauce Gardner is one of the best in the league, allowing Robert Saleh to call a more aggressive defense.

The Jets rank sixth in points per game allowed (18.7) and have held opponents to 20 or fewer points eight times. In the two games the Lions played against top-five scoring defenses on the road (Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots), they totaled just six points in eight quarters. Couple Detroit’s road struggles with the absence of Jets QB Mike White due to a ribs injury, andreturn of Zach Wilson, and this has the makings of a low-scoring affair.

There is not much standing out in terms of value at one sportsbook versus the others except PointsBet’s more affordable -107 juice. However, there is still a chance this total increases before kickoff if sportsbooks move the line in accordance with the betting splits.
