My best Jaguars vs. Broncos prediction focuses on Bo Nix and the Broncos bouncing back after an ugly season-opening loss to the Chiefs. Below, I explain why the Jaguars' mediocre rushing attack will be their downfall as they take on a defense that defends the pass well.

Despite losing by 21 last week, the Broncos are 2.5-point favorites ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET game at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Broncos -2.5 (-117 via DraftKings)

The Broncos managed just 176 yards of offense in Week 1, as Bo Nix threw for 131 yards and JK Dobbins and RJ Harvey combined for just 54 rushing yards. I expect a better performance this week, especially after Nix threw for 352 yards against the Jaguars last season

The Jaguars won 34-10 in Week 1, but I'm not ready to crown them after one game against the Browns. While Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes in that game, I don't expect him to have as much success against a defense that allowed only 18 passing touchdowns last year, the fourth-fewest in the league.

Home-field advantage is also real for the Broncos. Including the postseason, they went 9-2 last season in Denver, with one of their losses coming by three points in the AFC Championship Game with Jarrett Stidham under center. Eight of those nine wins were by three points or more.

📡 SBR Edge - Denver's RB duo set up for success

Though the Broncos' rushing attack was bad in Week 1, either Harvey or Dobbins rushed for at least 70 yards in eight of the 10 games they both played in from start to finish last year.

Jaguars' rushing attack leaves a lot to be desired

For as dominant as the Jaguars were in Week 1, the rushing attack never really got going. Bhayshul Tuten finished with 66 yards, as the Jaguars averaged just 3.9 yards per carry. That's the 11th-worst average in the NFL after Week 1.

Kenneth Walker III carved up the Broncos, as they allowed 5.8 yards per carry. However, Tuten doesn't provide the same big-play capability as Walker. His career-long run is just 20 yards, and he finished last season averaging just 3.7 yards per carry.

Score prediction: Broncos 27 Jaguars 21
