Eagles vs. Bears Prediction: Week 3 Early Pick & Opening Odds

While Chicago Bears fans will hope Caleb Williams’ hamstring isn’t as serious as it first looked, I’m backing the Philadelphia Eagles to cover the spread in my Eagles vs. Bears early prediction for MNF.

The Eagles are the 3.5-point betting favorite despite unconvincing wins against the Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans. Monday’s game kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN) from Soldier Field in Chicago.

Eagles -3.5 (-110 via BetMGM)

I don’t usually love the Eagles as road favorites, particularly beyond the critical -3 number, but Caleb Williams’ hamstring injury has swung the pendulum. 

Backup QB Tyson Bagent, who is 2-2 as a starter, will likely get the nod. The Bears defense, meanwhile, isn’t as good as it appeared against the Minnesota Vikings, where inclement conditions wreaked havoc on both offenses. 

The Eagles, mediocre in the first two weeks, scraped past the Tennessee Titans in Week 2. Injuries to Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert are disconcerting, but I’m backing their defense to suffocate Bagent in his first start in three years.

Eagles vs. Bears line movement

Line movement has been minimal thus far despite Williams’ injury. In fact, the Eagles’ line dropped from -4 to -3.5 at a few of the best sports betting sites. I expect that line to return to at least -4 in the coming days despite Barkley and Goedert’s injuries.
