Falcons vs. Packers Prediction: Week 3 Early Pick & Opening Odds
Things don’t look rosy for either TNF combatant as I offer my Falcons vs. Packers early prediction. We’ll have to wait to see who the Atlanta Falcons name as their starting quarterback for the tilt, which kicks off at Lambeau Field on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video).
The Packers are the 6.5- or 7-point betting favorite despite seeing several key players go down with injuries in the Week 2 win over the New York Jets. That’s one of the key reasons I’m backing the Under.

Uncertainty pervades the early lead-up to TNF, with the question looming about who the Falcons will start under center. The Under is the best play even if Michael Penix Jr. returns to the lineup.
Penix hasn’t played since mid-November, and I’d be gobsmacked if it doesn’t take him time to return to pre-injury form.
Apparent serious injuries to Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed and right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele, along with ailments to two more offensive linemen (Aaron Banks and Donovan Jennings), cast doubt on the Packers’ ability to accumulate points.
Even Jordan Love dealt with a hand issue in the low-scoring win over the New York Jets. I'll grab the price at FanDuel before the line drops.

Falcons vs. Packers line movement
The total hasn’t moved. The total will likely increase if Penix or Tua Tagovailoa is named the starter and decrease, albeit only marginally, if the Falcons have to utilize Jack Strand. I can’t see Cooper Rush getting another opportunity after his abysmal Week 2 display.
While the line movement has remained the same, the Packers will become larger favorites if the Falcons are forced to start Strand. However, the Packers’ injury situation is so dire that the line movement should be minimal either way.
