My best Browns vs. Jets prediction focuses on Geno Smith's efficient quarterback play as he takes on a pass defense that was torched by the Steelers last week. I also highlight why I expect the Jets' battle-tested defense to get the better of Deshaun Watson and the Browns' passing attack.

The Jets are favored by 2.5 points ahead of today's 1 p.m. ET game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Browns vs. Jets prediction & best bet

Jet -2.5 (-110 via DraftKings)

The Jets' rushing attack hasn't been good, but Geno Smith and the passing game have been solid. While the Jets rank just 18th in passing yards per game, they're averaging 7.7 yards per attempt, which ranks eighth in the league. Additionally, Smith has the highest completion percentage of any quarterback who has started every game this season.

The Browns' pass defense has struggled, allowing the ninth-most passing yards per game (235.3). Last week, they allowed Aaron Rodgers, who had just 700 yards and four touchdowns through three games, to throw for 299 yards and three touchdowns. Rodgers averaged 7.5 yards per attempt and 13.6 yards per completion.

📡 SBR Edge: Turnovers may be a difference-maker

A lack of turnovers could be the difference in this game. The Browns have intercepted four passes, which is tied for the fifth-most in the league. However, Smith leads an offense that has just one turnover this season, and he is yet to throw a pick. The Browns are yet to recover a fumble.

The Jets' defense is battle-tested and succeeding

The Jets have held three of their four opponents to 23 or fewer points, despite facing two top-eight offenses this season. The defense is allowing only 5.0 yards per play, which is tied for the sixth-best mark in the league.

The Browns are averaging 5.1 yards per play, which is worse than three of the Jets' four opponents. The Browns have the 24th-most rush attempts but the seventh-most pass attempts this season. Unfortunately for them, the Jets rank sixth in passing yards allowed per game and seventh in passing yards allowed per attempt.

Score prediction: Jets 20, Browns 14
