The Chiefs brought in Kenneth Walker this off-season to revitalize their offense after his Super Bowl MVP showing with Seattle. But his first matchup in Kansas City isn’t conducive to much success on the ground, as the Broncos allowed the second-fewest yards in 2025.
DraftKings has Walker’s rushing line at 61.5 yards, so that’s our preference for an Under bet compared to the line at 59.5 yards from FanDuel.

Meanwhile, quarterbacks were more often successful on the ground against Denver than running backs, with Denver ranking 16th in the league in defending the quarterback run last season.
Most expect Mahomes to ease into his rushing workload after his ACL recovery. I don’t see it that way. He’ll want to prove his knee is good to go, so I expect enough scrambling to clear a rushing line that he surpassed in 10 of 14 games in 2025.

Though moderate success on the ground for Mahomes would be a welcome sign of his recovery for the Chiefs, I’m not sure Kansas City can blow Denver out without significant contributions from Walker.
So, a quiet Walker game would seem to correlate with the Broncos staying competitive. Denver was an NFL-best 5-0-1 ATS as an underdog last season,
