💰 Bengals vs. Texans prediction & best bet

Under 46.5 (-105 via FanDuel)

Week 1 can be weird, which explains the Texans' defensive struggles in giving up 36 points to the Bills. It's safe to say that was an anomaly: Houston only allowed 30 or more points once all of last season.

That unit is far too talented to stumble again versus the Bengals, whose own defense looked much better after their massive offseason spending spree.

Cincinnati forced four turnovers and sacked Baker Mayfield four times in the season opener. That rebuilt Bengals pass rush now goes up against a weak Texans offensive line that looked just as shaky in Week 1 as it has in years past, despite replacing the majority of its starters.

Backing Under 46.5 is the play here, which I bet at -105 at FanDuel.

📡 SBR Edge

The Texans are 20-9 (.690 win %) at home under head coach DeMeco Ryans, including the playoffs.

Houston home cookin'

The Texans have been one of the better home teams in the league since DeMeco Ryans took over their sideline. Houston hasn't lost back-to-back games at Reliant Stadium since 2022.

A major reason why is because it's been a much more comfortable environment for up-and-down QB C.J. Stroud. After dropping their home opener to Buffalo, Stroud and the Texans will bounce back to beat the Bengals by at least a field goal in Week 2.

Score prediction: Texans 24, Bengals 21
