My LSU vs. Ole Miss same-game parlay sees adrenaline and hatred as fuel worthy of keeping No. 8 Ole Miss in Saturday's marquee matchup for a while, but Lane Kiffin might just have the roster for No. 7 LSU in a better place from top to bottom.
LSU is a 2.5-point betting favorite, with kickoff from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

In a way, Lane Kiffin is the architect of both offenses in this game. Both teams are averaging preposterous scoring rates early in the season, with Ole Miss at 41.0 PPG and LSU even higher, at 48.0 PPG.
While the Tigers’ defense could mute some of the scoring potential to some extent, there are multiple Heisman candidates on the other side of a charged-up environment. Ole Miss won’t get shut down entirely.
Both teams hitting 30+ points wouldn’t surprise me, so I like the Over up to at least 60 points in this one.
LSU -2.5 (-122)
While the offenses should produce, the edge in this game won’t come down to coaching - it’s personnel. The LSU defense has the advantage. While it held Clemson to a paltry 10 points in a blowout win, Ole Miss had to hold on for dear life against Louisville QB Lincoln Kienholz in his first-career start.
FanDuel offers -122 odds on LSU -2.5, a worthwhile price considering the value of that half point compared to -3 at DraftKings. Though our line on the third leg of the parlay is slightly tougher at FanDuel, the overall parlay odds are more favorable, even including getting a better line on the LSU spread.
Sam Leavitt 275+ passing yards (+124)
The faux uncertainty over Sam Leavitt’s status (I’m not buying Kiffin’s mind games for even a moment) means no ability to bet Under on any of Leavitt’s props as of Friday afternoon, but that’s no concern - I have no intention of doing that, anyway.
Ole Miss allowed Kienholz to rack up 307 passing yards. This pass defense is susceptible to Leavitt’s arm and his upgrade from Doubtful to Questionable is plenty for me to trust that he’ll suit up on Saturday.
At DraftKings, Leavitt’s most comparable line to this one is 270+ yards at -107 odds, so the price gained at FanDuel for the five additional yards is strong.
