Heavyweights collide in the co-headliner of Saturday's UFC event, as former world champion Andrei Arlovski looks to prolong his second wind against Jake Collier. Have a look at our Arlovski-Collier picks below before Saturday's fights.

Andrei Arlovski has repeatedly defied Father Time as of late and the streaking 43-year-old will look to pull off the feat yet again at Jake Collier's expense on Saturday night in Vegas. The former UFC heavyweight champion owes his resurgence and methodical ways to his defection to Florida's American Top Team, with the much-needed overhaul earning him three straight wins.

Standing opposite Arlovski is Collier, a man 10 years his junior who's struggled to string wins together despite testing the waters in three different weight classes. He'll look to leave Vegas with a coveted feather in his cap and the first win streak of a UFC stint that began in 2014.

Will Arlovski get the better of another younger adversary, or will Collier get over the hump and finally make it two in a row in the Octagon?

Here are my Arlovski-Collier picks and predictions for Saturday's co-main event (odds via DraftKings SportsbookFanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Arlovski vs. Collier Odds Analysis

Arlovski is the better-known commodity and the one with the win streak, hence his status as the betting favorite ahead of Saturday's dance with Collier. While FanDuel and Caesars Sportsbook have the ex-heavyweight champ at -154 and -150, respectively, both DraftKings and PointsBet are offering an Arlovski win at -145.

The veteran's days of putting foes to sleep are a thing of the past, which makes a win on points at +150 with FanDuel a most attractive wager for this matchup. Collier, on the other hand, is listed as a +126 underdog with the same sportsbook, with an upset decision win for the Missouri native available at +300 with DraftKings.

Andrei Arlovski Betting Profile

There was a time when Arlovski could put a man's lights out with his old reliable right hand, but a five-fight slump in 2016-2017 prompted a change in camps and his in-cage habits. Cut to this week's event, and Arlovski is soon to take the Octagon on a three-fight win streak, with victories in five of his last six coming over much younger opponents. This current iteration of Arlovski is methodical, less reliant on his patented right hand, and a little more mindful of his brittle chin, and I expect this same version of the former titleholder to show up on fight night.

Jake Collier Betting Profile

Now 10 fights into his UFC stint, Collier has alternated wins and losses throughout his promotional run and struggled to find consistency at middleweight, light heavyweight, and his current weight class. Collier moved up to heavyweight in 2020 after a near-three-year layoff, only for Tom Aspinall to put him away in 45 seconds. The 33-year-old has since won two of three, and he meets Arlovski following a January tapout of a common opponent in Chase Sherman. A fighter who's competent everywhere, but not particularly dangerous anywhere, I wouldn't be surprised if Collier looks to score points with strikes and takedowns in equal measure on Saturday.

Arlovski vs. Collier Predictions

Arlovski to win (-145)

His days as an elite heavyweight long expired, the 43-year-old Arlovski has been relegated to facing younger, middling competition of late, and Collier certainly fits that bill. To his credit, Arlovski has bested most of his recent foes, and Collier doesn't pose enough of a threat on the feet or the mat to change that. Like much of the former champion's third act, Saturday's tilt won't be pretty or particularly exciting, but he and Collier will likely stay in the Octagon's center, with Arlovski throwing a potshot or two per minute from first bell to last for a fourth straight win.

Arlovski on points (+150)

Arlovski's gone the distance in his last six victories, and since Collier will probably give him the fight he wants and keep their dance in space, the senior fighter will have all the time he needs to score points with combinations of little consequence and cruise to yet another decision. I wouldn't be shocked to see Collier shoot for late takedowns to steal each round, but Arlovski should be hip to his game and manage to stay upright long enough to get the nod on the scorecards.
