Sports Equinox Parlay 2023: Predictions from the NFL, MLB, NBA & NHL

All four major American sports leagues are in action on Monday, allowing us to create a Sports Equinox parlay featuring all four leagues.

The biggest game of the night is Game 3 of the World Series between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks. The winner will take a 2-1 series lead.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Lions are favored by more than a touchdown against the 3-4 Las Vegas Raiders, the Boston Celtics are taking on the second-worst scoring defense in the NBA, and the Dallas Stars are taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Sports Equinox NFL pick: Raiders vs. Lions

Detroit Lions -2.5 (-280) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is our safety play for this parlay. The Lions were favored by as many as 8.5 at different points this week, but the spread has dropped to 7, despite them drawing an overwhelming majority of wagers.

While that type of movement is concerning, the Lions are still going to win this game. They should win it easily, but just in case Jimmy Garoppolo’s return proves to be a problem for them, we’re going to take an alternate spread all the way down to Lions -2.5. The price is expensive, but we need one lock for this parlay. Jared Goff winning by a field goal at home is that lock.

Sports Equinox MLB pick: Rangers vs. Diamondbacks Game 3

Adolis Garcia Over 1.5 total bases (+100) ⭐⭐⭐

One bad game and Garcia’s Overs are suddenly well worth the price. Garcia was 0-3 in Saturday’s loss to the Diamondbacks. The performance ended a seven-game hitting streak. Garcia went Over 1.5 total bases in five of those seven games.

Garcia has only faced Diamondbacks’ starter Brandon Pfaadt twice in his career. He’s yet to record a hit, but we’re not going to put too much faith into such a small sample size. Garcia is the hottest hitter on the Rangers. To get this number at +100 is a phenomenal value.

Sports Equinox NBA pick: Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards

Boston Celtics Over 119.5 points (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Wizards allowed 143 points in their season-opening loss to the Indiana Pacers. After two days off, they turned around and held the Memphis Grizzlies to just 106. Perhaps this defense isn’t as bad as it looked in the first game of the season, but we’re still trusting the Celtics to score a lot tonight.

The Celtics have started the season with matchups against the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat. They’ve averaged 113.5 points per game in those two contests. Tonight, they face a defense allowing the second-most made field goals per game. The total for this game is set at 229, but we don’t trust the Wizards to do their part and push this Over. That being said, the Celtics should score at least 120 for the first time this season.

Sports Equinox NHL pick: Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars -1.5 (-105) ⭐⭐⭐

The Stars are 4-1-1 with three of their wins coming by just one goal. Tonight, they face the Blue Jackets, a team that has fallen by two or more goals in three of their five losses. 

The Stars have the fourth-best defense in the league from a scoring perspective. They’re allowing just 2.33 goals per game. The Blue Jackets are seventh-worst in the league in goals per game. While the Stars aren’t much better offensively, the Blue Jackets are allowing over three goals per game. The Stars should go above their season average tonight, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see them shut out the Blue Jackets.
