The Las Vegas Aces host the Washington Mystics on Thursday, as we offer our best Mystics vs. Aces prediction and expert picks based on the best WNBA odds.

It's been a rollercoaster season for the Las Vegas Aces (11-6), who have shaken off a tough start to win five straight heading into Thursday's matchup with the Washington Mystics (5-15). Those two meet at 10 p.m. ET from Michelob ULTRA Arena in Paradise, Nev.

The Aces are 16-point favorites to beat the Mystics across our best sports betting sites, which also have Las Vegas installed as the title favorite according to the latest WNBA championship odds. Much of that confidence is born from the Aces' back-to-back title runs, but they're finally playing like a contender this year, too.

The same can't be said for Washington, which remains the biggest title long shot in the WNBA in a clear rebuilding year for the organization.

Mystics vs. Aces predictions for Thursday

I don't know what to make of this Aces team. After losing four of five games in mid-June, they've now won five straight games by double digits - though only one came by a wider margin than this point spread (-16) would dictate.

They also struggled to pull away from the Mystics when these teams met on Saturday, a game that saw Washington lead late into the third quarter before Las Vegas' eventual 88-77 win. That game ultimately fell short of this total, as have three of the Aces' last four games and each of the Mystics' last two contests.

Las Vegas' defense was a major issue early in the year, but Becky Hammon's squad has allowed 83 or fewer points in five straight games with the league's third-best defensive rating (95.3) in that stretch.

Washington has shown flashes offensively in recent weeks, though I'm not buying the overall trajectory for a team still missing its best player in Brittney Sykes (foot) with zero top-20 scorers in the rotation.

Jackie Young Over 19.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

We've spent a lot of time focused on A'ja Wilson this season, and deservedly so for the two-time MVP winner and presumptive favorite to win again this year. But she was shut down when these teams met Saturday, scoring a season-low 11 points on 4-for-15 shooting.

Instead, Young stepped up with 26 points - her third-most on the season - to help the Aces stay afloat in a hard-fought win. It wasn't a fluky performance, either, as the two-time All-Star is averaging 21 points over her last seven starts while clearing this total in four of them.

These -105 odds imply a 51.2% probability that Young scores 20 points for the ninth time in 17 starts and pays out $9.52 on a $10 wager if she does.
