For my Jesus Ramos vs. Meiirim Nursultanov prediction, I'm taking Ramos to retain his WBC middleweight belt Saturday night in San Diego. Ramos is a -650 betting favorite to win against the unbeaten Nursultanov, who returns from a layoff dating back to November 2023.

The 12-round co-main event takes place at Pechanga Arena, with the broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. ET on DAZN. Ramos enters off a unanimous decision over Shane Mosley Jr., while Nursultanov last beat Julio Alamos over 12 rounds.

Jesus Ramos to win fight (-650)

Ramos has the cleaner path because he has been active against stronger opposition while Nursultanov has spent nearly three years outside a professional ring.

Ramos moved up to middleweight in December and beat Shane Mosley Jr. by unanimous decision to claim the interim WBC belt. He handled a 6-foot-1 opponent with a 77-inch reach, which matters against the 6-foot Nursultanov.

Nursultanov is 20-0 and skilled enough to make the early rounds competitive, but the layoff should become harder to hide once Ramos starts closing distance and working the body.

I expect Nursultanov to box patiently at first. Ramos should gradually force longer exchanges, build a lead, and take over down the stretch

Ramos 1+ knockdowns (+108)

Ramos can hurt durable opponents without needing a full stoppage. In 2024, he scored two ninth-round knockdowns against Johan Gonzalez before the referee waved it off. After that, he stopped Jeison Rosario and Guido Schramm in consecutive fights.

Nursultanov has not boxed since November 2023, so his timing and reactions will be tested immediately against a pressure fighter. Ring rust is a big x-factor in this bout.

The best price I found is +108, implying a 48.1% probability and returns $10.80 profit on a $10 bet. One clean Ramos left hand is enough for this wager to cash.
