For my Canelo Alvarez vs. Christian Mbilli prediction, I'm backing Canelo to reclaim the WBC super middleweight title Saturday night. The former undisputed champion is a -320 betting favorite against the unbeaten Mbilli, who will defend the WBC belt for the first time.
Both fighters return after more than a year away. Canelo lost a unanimous decision to Terence Crawford in September 2025, while Mbilli battled Lester Martinez to a split draw on the same card. The 12-round main event takes place at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the fight listed for approximately 5 p.m. ET on DAZN PPV.

Canelo Alvarez to win fight (-320)
Canelo will have many opportunities to counter a fighter who willingly exchanges at close range. Mbilli's aggressive style has earned 24 knockout victories, but it also leaves openings for Canelo's sharp left hooks and body punches.
Mbilli's last fight exposed some surprising defensive vulnerabilities. Lester Martinez outlanded him 412-273 in their September 2025 draw, with Mbilli absorbing heavy counters throughout the contest.
At 36, Canelo returns after a lengthy layoff and elbow surgery. While Canelo’s inactivity and age are legitimate concerns, Mbilli's always-forward attitude should offer more predictable exchanges than Crawford did. Canelo will be the smarter fighter in this bout.
I expect Mbilli to start quickly and make Canelo work. The Mexican's timing and accuracy should gradually take control, allowing him to bank enough rounds to reclaim the title.

Canelo Alvarez by decision (-140)
Canelo has gone eight consecutive fights without a stoppage victory, dating back to his November 2021 knockout of Caleb Plant. He has since dropped John Ryder, Jermell Charlo, Jaime Munguia, and Edgar Berlanga, but all four survived to the final bell.
Mbilli has never been stopped and showed tremendous durability against Lester Martinez, absorbing heavy punishment across 10 rounds.
I expect Canelo's counter-punching work to decide this bout without seeing a finish. The best price I found is -140, implying a 58.3% probability and returning $7.14 profit on a $10 bet
