My best Northwestern vs. Oregon prediction focuses on how the absence of quarterback Dante Moore will continue to impact Oregon's offense. However, Oregon won't be the only team struggling to score, as No. 20 Northwestern battles one of the best defenses it has faced all year.

Oregon is favored by 3.5 points ahead of Saturday's 3:30 p.m. ET game at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore. The game will stream on Peacock.

Under 47.5 (-110 via BetMGM)

Dylan Raiola has proven he's a capable backup, but he's not nearly as effective as Moore. Last week, he led Oregon to just 10 points against Illinois, the Big Ten's 14th-ranked scoring defense. Oregon has scored 17 or fewer points in three consecutive games featuring Raiola, averaging just 14.0 points per game during that span.

Northwestern is allowing just 16.6 points per game, and the only Big Ten team to top 21 against the Wildcats is Indiana. And while Northwestern is averaging 34.7 points per game, Oregon is allowing just 20.7 points per game, holding three consecutive opponents to 21 or fewer.

📡 SBR Edge: Wildcats' rushing attack vs. Oregon's solid run defense

Northwestern has the second-best rushing attack in the Big Ten, averaging 204.57 yards per game. Additionally, 17 of Northwestern's 29 offensive touchdowns have been on the ground. However, Oregon has what it takes to stop the Northwestern rushing attack, as the defense is allowing just 127.86 yards per game and has given up only six rushing touchdowns.

Turnovers will stall numerous drives

Northwestern has the fewest turnovers in the Big Ten, losing the ball just three times this season. However, Oregon has forced 12 turnovers, tying Northwestern for the second-most in the Big Ten, which could spell trouble for a normally protective Northwestern offense.

Meanwhile, Northwestern's defense has a clear advantage against an Oregon team that has lost 12 turnovers this season, which is the third-most in the Big Ten. Nine of those turnovers are fumbles, and I expect at least one fumble recovery from Northwestern, as Oregon will struggle to hold the ball in rainy conditions.

Another negative for Oregon's sustaining drives is its inability to convert third downs. The team is converting just 35.42% of tries, the fourth-worst mark in the conference.

Play to: Under 45.5

Score prediction: Northwestern 23, Oregon 20
