The Los Angeles Dodgers remain the consensus favorites by the 2024 World Series odds after multiple massive offseason acquisitions, and our best MLB betting sites are slotting the Atlanta Braves in comfortably as the most significant challenger.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites to win the 2024 World Series across our best sports betting sites with the season underway. Their odds shifted dramatically after they added Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, though they've lengthened a bit with the team off to a relatively slow start.

L.A. isn't the only National League team near the top of the oddsboard. The Atlanta Braves are the only other club listed around +500 or shorter despite the fact that ace Spencer Strider will miss the entire season.

Among AL teams, the New York Yankees stand out early in the campaign. Offseason addition Juan Soto is making his presence felt, and he's already the favorite in the AL by the MLB MVP odds.

Joining the Yankees near the top of the oddsboard are the always dangerous Houston Astros and up-and-coming Baltimore Orioles.

Here are the top 2024 World Series odds from our best sports betting apps.

Favorites to win 2024 World Series

Dodgers (+360 via DraftKings)

The powerhouse Dodgers already recorded 100-plus wins in three straight seasons. Now a team not far removed from its last World Series title in 2020 adds a terrifying slugger in Ohtani.

The baseball unicorn hit 44 homers in 2023 while finishing with a league-leading 1.066 OPS, taking home his second AL MVP trophy in the last three years.

However, Ohtani won't be able to pitch during his first year with the Dodgers as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Have no fear, Dodgers bettors, as the team signed Yamamoto to give Los Angeles another arm in the rotation after previously acquiring Tyler Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays.

Braves (+550 via Caesars)

The Braves' odds lengthened somewhat once the inevitable was confirmed: Spencer Strider underwent surgery on April 13 and will miss the remainder of the 2024 season. He lasted just four innings during a start on April 5 while giving up five runs, and the velocity of his usually lethal fastball was noticeably down.

Losing the league's 2023 strikeout leader is a devastating blow. Strider recorded 281 strikeouts last season, and Kevin Gausman of the Toronto Blue Jays was far back in second with 237.

However, if there's a team built to survive such a gut shot, it's the Braves. The club is more than capable of slugging its way to wins instead after finishing first in home runs, runs, and OPS during 2023.

Atlanta acquired Jarred Kelenic as an addition to its No. 1 offense. The Braves will continue to feature the reigning NL MVP in Ronald Acuna, too, with support from multiple potential 40-home-run hitters.

Orioles (+1200 via FanDuel)

The young Orioles arrived in the upper echelon of MLB earlier than expected in 2023 while winning 101 games, behind only the juggernaut Braves. It's a stunningly fast turnaround, as the club isn't far gone from losing 110 games in 2021.

The Orioles reached that win total primarily on the strength of their seventh-ranked offense. However, to reach the next level, the team needed to add a firmly established ace to bolster a pitching staff that was already starting to gel with a 3.89 team ERA in 2023 (also seventh in MLB).

Corbin Burnes was that addition. He hasn't been quite as dominant recently as Burnes was during his 2021 Cy Young season while posting a 2.43 ERA, but his WHIP still sat fifth in MLB during 2023 (1.07). He also induced plenty of weak contact, with an average exit velocity of 86.4 mph, which was among the top 8% leaguewide, according to Baseball Savant.

The Orioles also roster the No. 1 prospect in baseball, Jackson Holliday, and they called him up on April 10. However, it's fellow rookie Colton Cowser who's provided the Orioles with a spark thus far, and he serves as the favorite in the AL by the MLB Rookie of the Year odds.

How to read World Series futures

Every team is given World Series odds that shift throughout the season. Many factors can influence the movement of those numbers. A team's play is the most obvious, but injuries and transactions also contribute.

The top teams on the World Series futures oddsboard are deemed the most likely to win currently, with the opposite true for the bottom clubs. Bettors lock in wagers at current odds, and winning bets are paid out at the end of the season.

For example, a $10 bet at +1500 odds would pay out $150.

World Series spreads explained

Bettors can wager on the run line in each World Series game, just as they can throughout the regular season. For example, if one team is favored by -1.5 runs, that club needs to win by at least two runs for the wager to cash.

World Series moneyline odds explained

Teams involved in the World Series will get moneyline odds for both each game, and the series as a whole. The odds indicate which team is favored to win.

For example, if a team is a -120 favorite, that translates to a 54.6% probability of winning, and a $10 wager on that line would result in $8.33 in profit. Meanwhile, an underdog getting +115 odds is receiving a 46.5% chance to win, and the same wager would lead to an $11.50 win.
