The Chicago White Sox have yet to lose this postseason and look to steal another road game against the Cleveland Guardians. My White Sox vs. Guardians prediction expects the road underdogs to do just that, given their success against Gavin Williams this year.

My MLB picks also include fliers on Steven Kwan to go hitless at the plate and Miguel Vargas to go yard. I'm looking to build on my successful picks from Game 1, where I nailed Chicago's moneyline and my top player prop wager on Jose Ramirez Under 1.5 hits/runs/RBI.

First pitch from Progressive Field in Cleveland is set for 5 p.m. ET tonight (TBS/truTV), with Cleveland as -160 betting favorites. Opposing Williams on the mound is Anthony Kay.

💰 White Sox vs. Guardians prediction & best bet

White Sox ML (+132)

Chicago finds itself as road underdogs once again, despite it going 9-2 in its last 11 games overall and never trailing this postseason.

Cleveland had a difficult time generating any offense in the Game 1 loss, as it went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position and leaving seven men on base. It was the Guardians’ first shutout loss in 11 playoff games.

I cannot confidently back the Guardians at this price, especially since they went just 1-3 in Gavin Williams’ four starts against the White Sox this year and have a -7 run differential.

📡 SBR Edge: A winning record with Kay on the bump

Chicago went 4-0 in Anthony Kay's final four starts, and was 3-2 in his five starts against Cleveland this season.

🔥 Best White Sox vs. Guardians player prop bet

Steven Kwan Under 0.5 hits (+175)

We are getting great value on this Under on a player who was arguably MLB’s best hitter over the final two months.

Steven Kwan entered the playoffs amid an 18-game on-base streak. His hot stretch started long before that, as he led the Majors in batting average (.353) and on-base percentage (.443) after the All-Star Break, among those who made a minimum of 200 plate appearances.

Kwan has played in three games with Kay toeing the rubber, and is 0-for-5 with two strikeouts in six total plate appearances. Kay has also been devastatingly tough on left-handed batters, holding them to a .183/.247/.257 slash line and just eight extra-base hits all season.

💣 White Sox vs. Guardians home run prediction

Miguel Vargas to hit a home run (+700)

Miguel Vargas had great numbers against Cleveland in the regular season, posting a .424 on-base percentage with six extra-base hits and 10 RBI. He has a .429/.471/.643 slash line with a home run in 14 career at-bats against Williams. In addition, Vargas’ 1.113 OPS against the righty is the second highest of any player on today’s slate against today’s opposing pitcher (min. 10 PA).

Vargas turned in his first career 30-home run season, and he and Colson Montgomery were the first White Sox teammates with 30+ bombs in the same year since Jose Abreu and Eloy Jimenez in 2019. They were also the first set of teammates to reach that milestone this season, marking just the second time in franchise history that White Sox teammates were the first to reach 30 home runs in the Majors (joining Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome in 2006).
