Same-Game Parlay Predictions Mets-Braves

Mets -1.5 (+142) ★★★

These final two games between the Mets and Braves will be some of the most important of their respective seasons. They enter the day tied for the NL East lead, with the division winner earning the valuable bye into the NLDS as the No. 2 seed.

The Mets are a run-line road favorite on Saturday behind the strength of Max Scherzer. At 29-22 against the spread in 2022 as a road favorite, New York boasts the fifth-best cover percentage in MLB. The club is second behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers among teams that have been the road favorite more than four times in 2022.

Atlanta ranks 24th in MLB against the spread as a home underdog in 2022, covering the run line just four times over nine tries when getting bonus runs at home. The Mets have been successful against Kyle Wright this campaign too, logging 16 hits and nine runs over 13 innings.

Meanwhile, Scherzer has allowed five runs to the Braves over three starts (20.1 innings) this season.

Scherzer Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+114) ★★★★

Scherzer has cleared this mark in half of his starts (11 of 22) in 2022, and he's also done so in eight of the veteran's 14 outings since returning from the injured list in early July. His 169 strikeouts over 139 2/3 innings lead to a K/9 of 10.8. Only Carlos Rodon has produced a better strikeout rate among qualified NL starters, though Scherzer falls short of qualifying due to his lack of innings.

The Braves' lineup is one of the most powerful in 2022, but Atlanta's hitters have been susceptible to striking out. Atlanta has recorded the third-highest strikeout rate in MLB, whiffing 9.21 times per game. Only the Pirates and Angels fan with more frequency.

Scherzer has been contributing to that trend in 2022. He's fanned nine, 11, and eight Braves hitters over three starts against Atlanta, clearing this strikeout total in each game.

McNeil to record a hit (-320) ★★★★

The Mets' lineup has seen plenty of Wright during NL East battles, but no New York hitter has registered more at-bats against Wright than Jeff McNeil.

McNeil has produced seven hits with a pair of doubles over 15 career at-bats against Wright (.467 average). It can be frustrating to wager on players with high walk rates when betting on hits, but McNeil hasn't drawn a walk against Wright in his career.

The 30-year-old is currently riding a six-game hitting streak, with five multi-hit games during that stretch. There aren’t many hotter hitters in the league right now, and the matchup is favorable for McNeil on Saturday.
