FanDuel US Promo Code: Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies Game 5

After giving up seven runs in Game 3, the Astros pitching staff answered back with an authoritative Game 4 performance. Not only did they keep the Phillies off the scoreboard, they combined to keep them off the hit column all together. The series is now tied 2-2 and will move back to Houston after tonight.

Cristian Javier started and Ryan Pressly finished only the second no-hitter in World Series history. Before last night, the only name on that list was New York Yankees pitcher Don Larsen. Only three batters reached base in Game 3. Javier issued two walks and Pressly surrendered another. The Houston offense backed up their pitchers by supplying five runs in support.

Tonight, the Astros hand the ball back to Justin Verlander. The right-hander surrendered five runs in Game 1 through five innings. During the regular season, he boasted a record of 18-4 with a 1.75 ERA. He is 1-0 this postseason with a win in the ALCS against the New York Yankees.  That's the good news. The bad news, his ERA is 7.20 over those three postseason starts.

Houston has scored five runs in three of the four games this series. They’ve done so by leaning on the bat of Alex Bregman and Kyle Tucker. Tucker drove in four of his team’s five runs in Game 1 of the series. Bregman has four RBI against Philadelphia so far with two in Game 2 and two more last night.

The Astros are assured a trip back to Houston to close out this series. A win tonight would move them one step closer to claiming their franchise’s second World Series trophy at home.
