The Milwaukee Brewers came from behind to win each of the first two games of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and my Brewers vs. Dodgers prediction for Game 3 eschews the full game moneyline odds and expects Los Angeles to jump out to another early lead. It’s a Dodgers slugger that I’m backing to go yard, but I round out my MLB picks with the Over on a Brice Turang prop.

First pitch from Dodger Stadium is set for 8 p.m. ET (FS1). The Dodgers are -175 betting favorites.

Brewers vs. Dodgers prediction & best bet

Dodgers First Five Innings ML (-175)

The Brewers are seemingly used to and comfortable with playing from behind. They improved to 39-37 when allowing the first run this season, and the last team to finish a full 162-game season and beyond over .500 in that split was the 2009 Yankees who went 43-41 and won the World Series.

I’m hesitant to lay the steep moneyline odds with the Dodgers for the full game considering the strength of Milwaukee’s bullpen. In Game 2 alone, Brewers relievers threw five perfect innings, the most perfect innings by a team’s bullpen in postseason history.

📡 SBR Edge: Success against Gasser

The Dodgers have won both games this season that Robert Gasser has started, outscoring the Brewers 14-4 in that span.

Best Brewers vs. Dodgers player prop bet

Brice Turang Over 1.5 total bases (+210)

Brice Turang has come a long way from a disappointing 1-for-15 and six-strikeout performance in last year’s NLCS against the Dodgers. Through the first two games, Turang is 3-for-5 with two extra-base hits despite facing the two-time defending Cy Young Award winner and arguably one of the best postseason pitchers in MLB history.

We’re getting great value on this prop with Turang facing a southpaw in Blake Snell. Before September, Turang made 167 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers and slashed .189/.273/.257 with one home run. Since September entering this series, Turang slashed .297/.422/.568 with four home runs in 47 plate appearances in that split.

Milwaukee as a whole ranked 25th in ISO against left-handed pitching, but Turang has hit safely in five straight games against the Dodgers and gone over this projected total in each of the last two.

Brewers vs. Dodgers home run prediction

Freddie Freeman to hit a home run (+760)

Freddie Freeman has hit 18 career postseason home runs, tying seven others for the 10th most in MLB history (and 6th among active players). He has hit nine of those home runs in his time with the Dodgers, tying him for the sixth-most in franchise history.

Freeman had a 25-game playoff on-base streak snapped in the last series, which was tied for the third-most all time. And he has reached base in all four career plate appearances against Robert Gasser, walking twice and doubling twice to log a 3.000 OPS.

Gasser has allowed home runs to four different Dodgers sluggers in 45 combined at-bats, so there is great value in Freeman adding to that list as the fifth.
