Washington (3-1) suffered its lone loss on a neutral field in Seattle by dropping the Apple Cup against Washington State. The Huskies haven’t been tested in any road game, much less one that takes them across the country.

The Huskies are practicing at night to simulate what it will be like on game day in New Jersey, but I don't think it will help get them over the hump against a Rutgers (3-0) team that was already tested and prevailed at Virginia Tech.

Although ESPN’s FPI has Washington as a higher-ranked offense in efficiency, I’m fading the metrics.

The Huskies have averaged just 24.7 points per game against FBS foes, and I’m skeptical they’ll put up points in uncharted territory.

The Scarlet Knights have averaged 37.5 points per game against their two FBS opponents and will have the crowd behind them at home to win this game by a field goal or more.

A winning $10 bet will profit $8.20.

Moneyline

At -140, the current moneyline odds for Rutgers backers are most favorable at bet365.

We’re seeing limited variance, though, as the rest of our best sportsbooks have the odds floating between -141 and -142.

It’s a similar story on the Washington side, as the Huskies are +118 at FanDuel and Caesars, but +120 at DraftKings and bet365.

Spread

Considering the narrative of cross-country travel working against the Huskies, I expected to see the odds move further in favor of Rutgers, but we’ve seen it shift toward Washington so far after opening -3.5/+3.5.

The Scarlet Knights are down to -2.5 at FanDuel, with the rest of our best sports betting apps listing Rutgers at -3 with odds around -110.

Standard -110 odds on Washington +3 are the best we can currently find, posted at Caesars and bet365.

Over/Under

The total opened at 42.5 and has already seen some notable movement into the mid-40s. At FanDuel, you can still grab Over 45.5 with standard -110 odds, but the rest of our best sportsbooks have pushed the line to 46.

DraftKings is currently the best spot to snag the Under 46, as you’re getting -108 odds instead of standard -110 at Caesars and bet365 on that 46-point total.
