Friday's college football tripleheader culminates with the biggest game of the three, and our Stanford vs. Colorado prediction is based on the best college football odds as we look for an edge with the Buffaloes favored by double digits.

Colorado already cashed the Over on its preseason win total of 3.5 with its 27-24 victory over Arizona State last weekend, improving to 4-2 on the year. The Buffaloes are one step closer to bowl eligibility in Deion Sanders' first season as head coach, which would be quite the feat.

Stanford is considered a double-digit underdog Friday on the road in Boulder, and we're looking for the best way to attack this game with Colorado being such a huge favorite.

Our Stanford vs. Colorado player props and Shedeur Sanders player props offer more insight on this game to help you get a jump on your college football best bets for Saturday.

As part of our college football predictions for Week 7, here is our best Stanford vs. Colorado prediction and our college football picks (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Stanford vs. Colorado prediction: Week 7

Anthony Hankerson Over 32.5 rushing yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Editor's note: This total has now moved significantly and sits at 47.5.

Let's envision a world where Colorado actually performs to expectation as a double-digit favorite. The Buffs failed as three-touchdown favorites against Colorado State earlier in the season when they needed overtime to secure that victory.

Assuming this week's matchup goes differently, Colorado should lean on the ground game a bit more to help ice the tilt. And running back Anthony Hankerson has quietly assumed the RB1 role over the last few weeks.

Hankerson has cleared this rushing yards mark in back-to-back games, recording 26 carries for 132 yards and one touchdown over that span. He's played at least 40 snaps in both games, earning more usage than freshman running back Dylan Edwards, who began the year as the starting tailback for Colorado.

While Edwards remains a pass-catching threat, Hankerson has been the better runner and pass blocker this year. According to PFF, Hankerson has an offensive grade of 67 while Edwards is at 60.3. Hankerson's pass-blocking grade of 55.8 also clears Edwards' mark of 27.2 by a good margin.

Edwards might have more potential, but it's easy to see why the Colorado coaching staff has been trusting Hankerson a bit more of late. In a game that the Buffs could win by a decent margin, we like Hankerson's chances of clearing a low rushing total against a Stanford defense that ranks 130th out of 133 FBS team in run defense grade at PFF.

I'd prefer to play an alternate line on Hankerson's rushing total, because I think he clears it by a good margin on Friday. But only one of our best sports betting apps even offer a rushing line for Hankerson, making this the obvious play as of this writing.

That said, there are plus-money prices for Hankerson ahead of this Week 7 matchup. FanDuel lists Hankerson -140 to score a touchdown against Stanford, while Edwards is listed at +180 in that same market. Other shops have that flipped, with bet365 putting -138 odds on Edwards to score and a +150 value on Hankerson's chances to notch a TD.

Stanford vs. Colorado odds analysis

The market believes in the Buffs this week, pushing the opening spread of 8.5 out to 11.5 as of this writing. Colorado has only been a double-digit favorite one other time this season, when it was laying three touchdowns and needed overtime to hold off Colorado State.

As for the total, this line has dropped since releasing at 64.5. The latest total is hovering around 58.5 at our best sports betting sites.

This season, Colorado is 3-2-1 against the spread and 3-3 on the closing point total. Stanford has a 2-3 ATS clip and is 4-1 to the Under.
