Top picks for Week 2
Texas vs. Michigan prediction: Texas -7 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This line should probably be more like -8.5. Michigan is a completely different team this year and struggled with Fresno State while Texas blew out Colorado State.
I don't expect a ton of points, but Texas won't need it with the Wolverines sitting 56th in SP+ on offense after Week 1. A $10 winning bet pays a $9.09 profit.
Best odds: -110 via bet365 | Implied probability: 52.38%
Texas vs. Michigan prediction: Under 42.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I would also lean toward Texas in this game, but I have much more conviction about the Under - especially with this outlier number from BetMGM just above a key number.
Michigan's offense has legitimate concerns with former walk-on Davis Warren at the helm, but this defense might be the best in the country as it welcomes Texas to one of college football's most raucous environments.
Best odds: -110 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 52.38%

Iowa State vs. Iowa prediction: Iowa State Under 16.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Things always get wonky with the Cy-Hawk Trophy on the line, but one thing has remained the same: the Cyclones consistently struggle to score.
Iowa State has averaged 16.2 points in the last 10 meetings - a 41-point outburst skews that number a bit - while Iowa has allowed fewer than 17 points in 15 of its last 17 home games.
Best odds: -110 via Caesars | Implied probability: 52.38%

South Florida vs. Alabama prediction: Byrum Brown 40+ rushing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's shocking to see our top college football betting sites so down on Byrum Brown's rushing yards. Last season, he ran for 92 yards against Nick Saban's Alabama defense and hit 40 yards in 10 of 13 games.
Brown is a dynamic runner who led all QBs in rushing yards after contact last season (723), per PFF. A $10 winning bet on this prop pays an $18.50 profit.
Best odds: +185 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 35.09%
Kansas vs. Illinois prediction: Kansas -4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It feels like the market is still sleeping on Kansas, which went 9-4 last year and features one of the best QB-RB duos in the country in Jalon Daniels and Devin Neal.
The Jayhawks jumped out to a 21-0 lead over Illinois last year in an eventual 11-point win. With this line as high as -5.5 via FanDuel, I love the value at -4.5 via bet365.
Best odds: -110 via bet365 | Implied probability: 52.38%

Tennessee vs. NC State prediction: Dylan Sampson Over 69.5 rushing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐
NC State's defense struggled with Western Carolina. Tennessee is loaded with talent and the Wolfpack will likely sell out to stop Nico Iamaleava. That'll give Dylan Sampson light boxes to exploit.
He ran for 124 yards on just 12 carries last week, and his speed is a game-changer in Josh Heupel's veer and shoot offense. A $10 winning bet pays a $9.71 profit.
Best odds: -103 via Caesars | Implied probability: 50.74%
