My best Florida vs. Texas prediction focuses on how poorly Florida's defense has played this season and how much the rushing attack has struggled against good run defenses. Arch Manning and No. 7 Texas will have a clear advantage through the air in this game, which should lead to a blowout victory.

Texas is favored by 10.5 ahead of Saturday's noon ET game at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin, Texas. The game will air on ABC and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

Texas -10.5 (-115 via DraftKings)

If Florida can't run, Florida can't win. Unfortunately for the Gators, Texas ranks 19th in rush defense, allowing just 96 yards per game and 2.81 yards per carry. Texas is yet to allow a single running back to top 74 yards in a game.

Florida has the 22nd-most rush attempts this season and is averaging 200.3 rushing yards per game and 5.01 yards per carry. However, over the last two weeks, the Florida rushing attack has been stymied. Jadan Baugh has rushed for just 72 yards on 27 carries, and as a team, the Gators are averaging just 2.57 yards per carry.

📡 SBR Edge: Florida's difficult task

When Florida's rushing attack inevitably struggles, Aaron Philo will be tasked with deciphering Texas' 23rd-ranked pass defense. Texas is allowing just 5.9 yards per attempt, which ranks 15th in the country, and though Philo is averaging 9.0 yards per attempt, he's yet to top 227 yards against an SEC team.

Florida's defense is a problem

Florida is allowing 29.0 points per game, which ranks 15th in the SEC. The Gators have allowed at least 28 points to every SEC opponent, giving up an average of 37.5 points per game to conference opponents.

The pass defense is the worst in the conference, allowing 268.7 yards per game and 7.2 yards per attempt. Opponents are completing 64.9% of their passes against Florida, which is bad news for a unit that's about to face Manning. Manning has thrown five interceptions this season, but he's also completed 63% of his passes, and he's averaging 7.7 yards per attempt.

Score prediction: Texas 35, Florida 17
