My best Clemson vs. California prediction focuses on both teams' offensive struggles this season. While both rush defenses have been really bad, I don't think that either offense has the ground game to move the ball with any type of consistency and put points on the board.

Clemson has scored just 60 points this season, averaging 20 points per game. Last weekend, the Tigers scored 28 points, but 14 of them came in the final 5:01 of the game. Freshman Tait Reynolds is expected to be under center again, and he's been far from convincing this season, throwing an interception last week and completing just 59.3% of his passes against Georgia Southern.
California's offense has struggled this season as well. The team has managed just 45 points against FBS opponents, scoring 21 against Syracuse and 24 against UCLA. Even with a 49-point performance against Wagner, California ranks 72nd in the nation in points per game.

Clemson's 4.75 yards per play ranks 126th in the country. If you think the game against LSU is making Clemson's offense look worse than it is, think again. Clemson averaged just 4.68 yards per play against Georgia Southern.
