Fanatics Sportsbook, one of our best sports betting sites, continued its aggressive expansion on Thursday with the announcement that it has become the latest Louisiana sports betting app.

It has been a rapid American expansion for the Florida–based operator since acquiring PointsBet’s U.S. operations in April. Since the $225 million purchase of the Australian-based company’s U.S. assets was announced, Fanatics has launched its sports betting brand in 22 U.S. states, covering about 95% of the American public eligible to place a legal sports wager.

Fanatics Louisiana will face some familiar foes in the Bayou State market. Its main competition for action will be FanDuel and DraftKings, which have dominated the market share of all 22 states where Fanatics has a presence.

More on the deal

Fanatics Sportsbook, through a partnership with Boomtown Casino and Hotel, became the 10th Louisiana sports betting app on Thursday.

The sports betting brand, born out of one of the most successful sports apparel brands on American soil, is now available for download at the App Store for iOS users and the Google Play Store for those with an Android device. It is also available on desktop via your favorite internet browser.

As of Thursday, the Fanatics Sportsbook promo code will provide new users in the Louisiana sports betting market up to $1500 in Bonus Bets.

Along with a generous bonus structure, Fanatics Sportsbook will bring its FanCash Rewards program to users in Louisiana. Recently revamped, this program allows sportsbook users to earn “FanCash Rewards” with every wager, which they can use toward Fanatics-brand merchandise such as jerseys and other clothing options, bonus bets, and a host of other benefits. It's one of a growing number of Louisiana sportsbook promos.

According to a press release, the company will offer “robust parlay offerings, Pre-Game and In-Game Same Game Parlay markets, the ability to stack your Same Game Parlays and pre-built Same Game Parlays to save time.”

The Louisiana market

Louisiana sports betting apps and the state’s retail providers have performed admirably since launching in Jan. 2022. The state has shown steady growth and has added four sportsbooks in just one calendar year.

The Louisiana market has accepted just over $3 billion in wagers through the first six months of 2024, a 37% year-over-year growth from the same period last year.

In June, Louisiana’s best sportsbooks took in $195.8 million worth of bets and generated $24.8 million in revenues for the then-nine sports wagering providers.

bet365, BetMGM, BetRivers, Betway, Caesars, ClutchBet, DraftKings, ESPN BET, and FanDuel all exist in the Bayou State market as immediate competition to the Fanatics brand. Betway is navigating its exit from the market.

As mentioned, Fanatics Sportsbook Louisiana will be chasing FanDuel and DraftKings in the battle to be the most popular Louisiana sports betting site but will likely fall into the second or third tier of providers.

Continued growth

Fanatic Sportsbook has been on a launch spree, going live in a host of markets since April. The Arizona sports bettingNew Jersey sports betting, and Wyoming sports betting markets are included, along with a retail launch in the Connecticut sports betting market in March.

Those launches, along with the previous PointsBets markets, have made Fanatics, as mentioned, available in 22 markets across America.

Fanatics has also parlayed its sportsbook expansion into growth in its apparel business. Starting this year, Fanatics will be the NHL's official partner, supplying the on-ice jerseys for players in one of North America’s four major sports.
