Betr Launches New Sportsbook and “Group Mode” For Betr Picks
Betr is the first sports betting app focused on “microbetting,” placing a wager on individual moments of a contest unrelated to the final score (similar to prop bets).
In a recent press release, the sports betting and media company announced two new product launches on the same day. The company has soft-launched the new Betr Sportsbook in the Ohio sports betting and Virginia sports betting markets, and introduced its peer-to-peer product, "Group Mode.”
"We are thrilled to launch Group Mode for Betr Picks and to soft launch the new Betr Sportsbook," commented Joey Levy, Founder and CEO of Betr.
Available in Betr Picks, which can be accessed using a Betr Picks promo code, Group Mode offers Betr’s fantasy sports pick 'em product in a peer-to-peer format. In this, users compete against each other rather than the house, as with many Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) platforms.
"Today's two product launches represent an important inflection point for Betr – Betr Picks will now be available to 65% of the U.S. population, enabling us to welcome millions of new sports fans to Betr for the first time, while the new Betr Sportsbook puts us on a path towards ramping investing in this vertical and positions us as having made the most progress towards competing in the Online Sports Betting industry amongst the other market leading fantasy sports pick em' operators,” added Levy.
“Significant product improvements are on the way across both Picks and Sportsbook but we are proud of the quick progress we have made here.”
New sportsbook features
Ahead of the 2024 NFL season, Betr is launching its V1 Sportsbook product with full capabilities beyond microbetting. Offering a user-friendly interface, it provides traditional markets like moneyline, point spread, and Over/Unders, as well as player props, futures, exotics, Same Game Parlays (SGP), and Same Game Parlays Plus (SGP+).
All capabilities will also span pre-match and in-play. The new Betr Sportsbook was built on the Chameleon platform, which Betr acquired in May 2023.
In addition to the soft launch in Ohio and Virginia, Betr plans to launch its sportsbook in the Maryland sports betting and Indiana sports betting scenes over the coming months, where it has secured temporary sports wagering licenses.
The company also plans to launch its sportsbook in Kentucky sports betting, Pennsylvania sports betting, and Colorado sports betting, subject to receiving sports wagering licenses from their respective regulators.
About Betr
Co-founded by Jake Paul and Joey Levy in 2022, Betr began with an online sports betting product offering micro-betting markets, in which players wager on individual moments of a contest unrelated to the final outcome, similar to prop bets. The Betr app is available across the United States but only uses play money in many jurisdictions.
The company later launched its real-money DFS product, Betr Picks, which was originally made available in 24 states. Betr Picks just launched in Massachusetts sports betting and Florida sports betting and is soon to arrive in Alabama, Arizona sports betting, Delaware sports betting, Missouri sports betting, New Hampshire sports betting, Tennessee sports betting, Virginia, and West Virginia sports betting, bringing the total to 33 states and DC sports betting.
Betr also has its media division, Betr Media, which launched in Aug. 2022 and has grown to over 4 billion impressions and 7.3 million followers. The company also has plans to launch its iGaming vertical, Betr Casino, to join the real-money online casino fray.
