Another Baylor National Championship Would Payout $1.06 Million to Bears Backer

A Caesars Sportsbook bettor in Arizona placed two wagers on the Baylor Bears (+600) to win the 2022 NCAA Men's Championship tournament. The two tickets would win the bettor $1.06 million.

The Bears (+1000) currently have the fifth shortest odds to win the National Championship at Caesars, and they would be the first back-to-back National Champion since the Florida Gators repeated as champs in 2007.

Baylor started the season 15-0, but there have been several peaks and valleys over the past two months. Most notably, losing senior center Jonathan Tchamwa to a season-ending knee injury and sharp-shooter LJ Cryer missing most of the past six weeks with a foot injury has taken its toll.

After all, Baylor was beaten in the Big 12 Conference Tournament quarterfinals by the Oklahoma Sooners. Still, the Bears did earn a share of the regular-season title alongside the Kansas Jayhawks.

If Cryer cannot suit up or is limited, it could leave the Bears with the highest hopes but ultimately on the ropes as the tournament progresses.

The Bears still boast impressive underlying statistics with a ninth-ranked adjusted offensive efficiency and 14th-ranked adjusted defensive efficiency, according to KenPom's metrics.

Futures shoppers should avoid Caesars' current number for Baylor to win the National Championship with other sportsbooks offering better lines.

However, the noted Arizona bettor with the big wagers on the Bears did land great value compared to the currently available odds.

The Bears open the 2022 Men's National Championship Tournament against the Norfolk State Spartans at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX, at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 17.
