5 NFC East Minicamp Storylines: Saquon Barkley Continues to Impress

NFL minicamps are wrapping up Thursday. Neil Parker takes a peek at the biggest and most entertaining storylines from the four NFC East teams. You can see the AFC East here.

Drum Keeps Beating for Saquon Barkley

The drum of positivity has been beating all offseason for New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, and it’s the team’s beat writers holding the drum sticks.

ESPN Staff Writer Jordan Raanan is projecting a big season, and Barkley is available at +6000 to win the NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award at FanDuel Sportsbook.

Still a Long Road Ahead for Chase Young

The second overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft tore his right ACL in Week 10 last season and is obviously still not close to returning to action.

Interestingly, though, Young has significantly shorter odds (+2000) to win the Defensive Player of the Year Award than the Washington Commanders do to win Super Bowl LVII (+6000) at Caesars Sportsbook.

Is No News Good News for Eagles?

Either the Philadelphia Eagles beat writers didn’t show up, or the team had one of the quietest minicamps in the league.

A shift in organizational philosophy to scale back the on-field work during their offseason program probably explains it, though. Philadelphia is listed at +160 to win the NFC East at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Expect a More Mobile Dak Prescott

A more mobile Prescott is probably a good thing for the Dallas Cowboys.

America’s Team is currently the consensus favorite to win the NFC East for a second consecutive season, and Caesars has Prescott’s odds to lead the NFL in passing yards at +1000.

Cowboys Already Foreshadowing Postseason Letdown

Dallas fans have to be familiar with the three-for-one trade: Expect the Cowboys to play three or more playoff games and only receive the luxury of watching one.

FanDuel has -310 odds hanging that the Cowboys will make the playoffs this year.
