Only real problem for Darcis was trying to close the match out. Guy had the nerves of a virgin on prom night. Fortunately he finished it off. I think I am coining a new term for people who bet Darcis .... Darcisist. One cannot resist betting on Darcis.

He's always a tough guy to predict as far as "Want" - there are tournaments where he can beat anyone and then moments like this where he shows up disinterested. Hopefully the asshole wakes up.

Van Der Merwe crushed Sock 6-1 in the opener. ON-serve 1-0 Sock in the 2nd.

Still like two people in the stands again for these afternoon matches.

Van Der Merwe comes out and blows his service game early. 2-0 Sock. Sock looked like he was hurting though.

Sucks they have no challengers here in NC. Have to wait for Winston-Salem(John Isner Invitational)in August and sweat my balls off. Just think Ep, me and you could be there half tanked already but gripping on every point giving in match updates for Live betting.

Hells yeah. Sock retires. Guess the injury was more of an issue than expected. Sucks had VDM at two books, but one has to go the distance for the W. Tall doofus' own fault, should have taken Sock out in straights but his serve disappeared in the 2nd set.

              Zverev ... C'MON FUKKO!

                    Dallas Challenger: Ball +170
Impressed with the lefty this week. He dismantled Sweeting easily yesterday and gets Ginepri today. Ginepri was in a real battle with the youngster Williams yesterday, but wore him down in 3. Both the 1st two sets were tie breaks though and if Ball's big lefty serve is working again today, these sets could offer more of the same. Ball has played very well on these courts in two trips to Big D, making the final back in 2010 and winning four already this tourney as he ran through qualis. If his serve is popping, he rates a definite shot here.

Caloundra Challenger Parlay: Wang + Groth [+125]
Good form for both these guys from Burnie last week into their 1st rounders this week. Wang has the experience edge over his young Aussie opponent Brendan Klein. Klein from most of his results just doesn't look like he's prepared to step up against more experienced guys. Groth will put all sorts of pressure on Rieschick's serve. Groth pumped out 29 aces last match, but had ten doubles. He needs to cut that down, but so long as he's chipping in easy points with those aces ... Rieschick will have to be near perfect on his own serve to stay with him.

She seems to be a popular pick. Passing myself. I think Wickmayer takes her out personally. I wasn't that impressed by McHale against Lepchenko, other than she showed some nice resolve to break right back when she fell behind. I think a big experience edge to Wickmayer and her confidence got rebuilt with a couple Fed Cup demolition jobs too. Would be a nice scalp for McHale if she gets it.

                                Thursday, February 9th

Parlay: Jaziri [Quimper Challenger] + Hantuchova [Pattaya] -125
Jaziri draws Gensse. Jaziri rebounded from a poor finish in Kazan last week to dominate his opener. He faced no break points. Gensse won a three setter against Jouan to open. He's been so-so in his limited experience on this surface. Jaziri won a Challenger last year in his late season breakout. If the same service effort is brought by Jaziri from round one to two, he advances. Hantuchova gets the other Radwanska, Urszula. Simply better talent with Dani and she's defending her champion's points from winning this last week. She should work through another round without too much trouble.

                                [WTA Paris] Mattek-Sands -115
Riding with the BMS again. She faces a tough challenge in Vinci, but I think on this surface BMS has the better serve to power through. She's played very well in Paris through qualis and in previous trips here. Vinci had done some good work on this surface back in 2010, but has gone 1-4 in limited action on indoor courts since. I think BMS is confident in her game right now on this surface and if she can serve well again, I think she moves through.

                                  BMS =

Nothing but disappointment from her anytime I've been invested in her matches (probably 3x). Retirement, point penalties, tanking, you name it.

                                                      Dallas Challenger

                                                      Ball +135
Ball has been steady this week, running through qualis and then taking out Sweeting and Ginepri with his solid lefty serve. He'll face another lefty today in Levine. The two have met four times with the meetings split. The last meeting came at a Challenger last fall that Levine won in 3 with two tie breaks involved. This match looks set-up to be just as close and for me, that means taking the plus money is the way to go here. Levine is plenty good enough to win here, he won a Challenger titles on this surface last fall, but has yet to face a challenge this week. I like Ball's resolve so far and his play in the tie breaks yesterday with Ginepri could loom large for a repeat today. In spite of playing qualis, he hasn't logged a ton of court time that should lead to heavy fatigue.

                                                      Berankis -115
Berankis v. Darcis. Neither has been troubled through two rounds here, so this will be the first step up for both. They've met once, last Fall on an outdoor hard court with Darcis winning in 3. All three sets were very close. Both have been solid on the surface, but I'm siding with Berankis here. This is a guy with loads of potential who needs to start harnessing that into titles at this level as he tries to become more than just a "tweener" who pops up to the ATP level now and again. He should be using these tournaments for confidence and that means beating guys like Darcis. I think the edge for me here is Berankis' serve.

Really if you break even most days or make a slight profit, that's "killing it" IMO because of the wacky nature of the sport. I think the most important thing that I have learned is don't lay that heavy chalk unless you're doing parlays. You lose some chalk plays and it burns you out real quick.
