EP, I keep waiting for ferrer to finally break through at a major and get to a final if not win one. Kinda thought 2-3 years ago he was on the downside of his career, but he has proven me wrong. He is becoming one of my favorite players to admire just due to his work ethic alone. Maybe somehow some way in the next 2 years he can sneak one due to someone getting upset to kind of make his road easier. He deserves it more than anyone due to way he carries himself on the court by far.A credit to his record of 15-9 5th set record has to be his fitness regimen.

#947Australian Open: January 21 [Day 7]
Nadal-Lopez Under 31.5 [-120]
The track record for Lopez in Grand Slams when he comes up against the likes of Murray, Federer, Djokovic and Nadal reads about the same: straight sets defeat and more often than not in convincing fashion in under this many games. Lopez was solid on-serve vs. Isner, but that's to be expected against a man with no return. The double faults are still concerning. He had 12 after racking up 11 in the two previous rounds combined. He's also left some break opps out there when facing solid returners as we know Nadal is. Rafa's serve has looked good this week and that of course is big when facing Lopez. Rafa hasn't been troubled much by Lopez in his career an does about as good as anyone with converting break opps. The margin for error will be small for Lopez who seems a little overwhelmed like most of his fellow countryman when facing their country's best.
Parlay: Berdych + Clijsters [-104]
Kohlschreiber-Del Potro Over 36.5 [-110]

#948Well the Azarenka future stays the course. She's had the dream draw and it's going to be Ag-Rad next up most likely. I still love her here. I know I've been waiting for her to get the break through and backed her several times in futures in Slams only to be disappointed. But this is really her shot to shine me thinks. Women's quarters are all going to be very nice from a betting perspective I think because the match-ups all look very enticing and mostly close to 50-50.Comment -

what is your reasoning behind Kohlschreiber-Del Potro Over 36.5 [-110]. You think Del Potro does not win in straight sets?Comment -

#950Nope. Kohlschreiber matches up well with him if his serve stays solid. Their two meetings on hard courts in 2011 show that. Sure, some of that might have been DelPo a bit rusty still ... but outside of whipping Lu ... even his win over Kavcic had some moments where DelPo left the door open. Also based on how well both CAN serve, this is something that could still potentially be done in three very tight sets with a tie break or two,Comment -

#963Problem for Clijsters is Li was going to make her move a lot regardless of injury, so if it's hurting any ... just that much harder. Plus side, Li's serve still isn't very great, so she will still have some opportunities if she sticks around.Comment -

I wish Kim could tweet from court side, I would love to see her take on her ankle and the hopelessness of her situation. LOL. Every commentator on espn had her dead in the water in this matchLast edited by gregm; 01-22-12, 01:32 AM.Comment -

#970Thats a good tweet, I signed up for so many players tweets and they are usually about stupid stuff, rarely much about tennis. I will sign up for hers.

#975The commentators weren't just writing her off during the tie break, they were pretty much doing it the whole match after the probably slight ankle roll. I am just glad I have direc tv and they had this on espn3, I was more pissed when espn wouldnt show the berdych/almagro finish to the second set but showed Kim getting her ankle taped.
Live wagering listening to these commentators is a bad idea. The only thing about having access to some poor live wagering opportunities is apparent on nights like this.Comment -

#977almagro in a tough rally hit a shot right at byrdych, byrdych went down, almagro won the point. almagro said he was sorry but byrdich ignored him. then byrdich would not shake his hand after the match. fans don't like that, you have to shake hands after the match.Comment -
