    Santiago Giraldo +275

    Why not.

Melzer won his last tourney (although he should have lost), so i'm going for the tourney after final loss method.

Giraldo has also already played 3 matches on this surface, and whilst he was out of form for a while, he's slowly getting back to some solid form that he had at the beginning of the year.

Melzer has never been one for pressure anyway, and knowing he has to win the whole tournament to maybe qualify for London, deep down he probably knows he can't.

Major problems for Giraldo: awful returns, and his choking.

Wouldn't be surprised if Melzer beats himself though.

I agree, just a value bet, as in essence, Melzer should win in straight sets.

if melzer makes as many unforced errors as de bakker then giraldo has a chance. Otherwise I think Giraldo just comes up too short against someone like Melzer.

Another prob: Melzer is now mathematically out of the running for London.

Melzer had an elbow problem in Vienna btw, played through the pain cos he was defending champ (and at home). Was really lucky Haider choked the final.

There's a chance he's not fully fit here, just turns up for the cheque (like Youzhny it seems).

2nd round exit pays 15,200EUR. Not bad for just showing up...
