Shari any concern with Youz back issues? He was wearing some things on his back during his last match and they spoke about it a little during the match. You think the over has a good chance or do you prefer one of them straight up?

I'm betting this match under the assumption that both of them are as fit as any other player at this stage in a Slam. I've watched too many people get burned by fading players that they assume will feel fatigue or be hampered by an injury only to be burned bigtime. Wawa is one player that many have went against after the Murray match only to watch their cash get flushed away.

My bets today are:

Wawrinka

Nadal/Fernando over

I apologise I can't post odds but my book seems to be down for maintenance or something so I'm not entirely sure what I got them at when I took them earlier. I think Wawa was +116 off the top of my head.

If I can get back in, I may make a small play on Nadal 3-1 although I think Verdasco has a much better chance than the odds are showing.

Shari, I've never bet tennis before but was considering a small play on the Nadal match. How are totals counted in this sport?

It's based on the number of games. So a final match score of 6-4 6-1 6-3 would give you a total of 26. Best of luck with your first bet!!

Not a good day going 0-2. I guess I should've went with my initial lean and took both overs so I would've at least rescued some of my cash.

I really can't see how the men's final is going to be anything other than Nadal-Fed and the way Nadal's serving out of the blue, I'm going to find it very difficult to pick a winner if that's the case.

I really don't think I can take her at this point. Even though Kim has a tendency to be flaky from time to time, Venus hasn't shown me in this tournament that she has the form to take her down. I'm going to look at it a bit more later but in all honesty I'll most likely go with Kim even though I love the thought of taking a Williams sister at an awesome price.

As of this exact second, yes. But I may change my mind once I look into the matches more deeply. My biggest concern would be Kim but as I said above, I just haven't seen anything from Venus to make me think she can outlast her right now. Djoko could give Fed a bit of a scare but Fed's just looking way to sharp at this point to fall in this match. Nadal/Youzhny - I think there's no hope for Youzhny at all. No way. And Woz/Vera - I think Woz is just too defensive and Vera's too inconsistent to take her out. Although Vera's had a great run here, the scalps Woz has taken in her past 14 matches, including Vera herself in Montreal, is too impressive to ignore and I can't see Vera getting by her here.

I agree Shari I think all 4 favorites move on. Federer is on a mission and so is Woz, I think both of them wind up winning the US Open.

Well, my parlay's pissed away so now I need the Venus/Kimmy match to go over to somewhat rescue the day. Holy jumping jellybean junk. Can't wait until this tournament is over. If it ended now I'd end up $200 after how many plays?

agree with payton better than loosing. i play a lot of poker and people always laugh when i bet pocket aces and everyone folds. i always tell them i'd rather win a small pot than slow play and get snapped off. keep up the good work shari. not a rocket scientist but i think since the score is 6-4, 5-3 your over is golden

The over is indeed golden!!! And hopefully my little chase play on the Venus +3.5 comes through to actually give me a profit although I'll be happy with just a basic push.
