How are futures plays graded when a retirement is involved? Are they voided out as 'no action,' or do they automatically lose since the player can't win since they're out of the tournament? Just wondering how that Nishi future will play out now.

Yeah. They either win or lose. This tournament continues to live up to its rep with the upsets and retirements. Anderson really has a very workable draw in the top half to get to the Final still. The bottom, I really think one of the non-seeds is gonna make it.

i can honestly say this is the lowest quality tennis I've ever witnessed at the ATP level...

Williams and Baghdatis will easily go 3 sets simply because neither player is doing anything to win...dreadful execution...

the word shitfest is overused generally and applies only to patches of play here and there...but this match is wall-to-wall shitfest

Gut feeling I had this week that if a qualifier made a run, it would be him. He's not overly impressive, but you don't really need to be to beat Isner. I don't think Isner had looked that great here either, so in what might be a tight match ... Williams makes perfect sense to me.
