    5Dimes Racebook "Scratch"
Betting 5D's Racebook today, in Race 4 at Woodbine, they list the horses except the 12 horse, which they have marked as scratched (The 12 was the post-time favorite as well). The 12 ends up winning the race and for obvious reasons, I don't win it. Contacting live help resulted in wasted time because the horses department said they properly graded it.

I didn't lose a lot but I feel I should be refunded for my picks in that race. Am I in the wrong?

5D should refund you your money for that race imo. Top Notch racebook though.

Completely agree, I have never had a problem except now. Final thing my live help agent said:

Danny: And the thing is that there was a horse that was going to race but then it wasn't going to, then it did race.
Me: The point remains that the favorite and subsequent winner of the race wasn't listed as an option
Danny: Well sir sorry for the inconvenience but there is nothing we can do about it, it was properly graded.
Danny: Is there anything else I can assist you with?

      Absolute BS.

It's sounds like it was small money, but it is the principle of it. But I would highly recommend 5D's racebook. Great rebates, a plus 10% book on winnings as another option, lowest minimums in the business. Professionally run, irrespective of this glitch. Would also recommend DSI's racebook as well.

I would think they would have this situation covered in the horse racing rules.

They can't offer a market where you can't bet on the winner. That's like offering a Super Bowl futures market where you can't bet on the Packers. Every bet taken from the point the horse was removed should have been refunded. It was an error by Equibase. Notice it was corrected after the race was over.

File a complaint with SBR - this should be an easy resolution.

I don't think I've encountered a situation quite like this. However, had the horse that the OP bet instead actually won, should the Book be allowed to void his ticket because a contender was omitted? I don't think so. Unfortunate mistake, but I'm not sure the OP has a case.

What's amazing is the Horse was scratched today by mistake at 12:30 and was not discovered till after the race was over. They had two hours to catch the mistake and is hard to believe that nobody noticed the horse listed as scratched at the track like a steward, fan, TV people etc etc.

I'm sure it was just a dgs horse software error.

No it was a Equibase error, anyone using them were affected, I know Twin Spires had the same issue.

Since 5dimes isn't hooked up to the pool from Woodbine they most likely work off a XML feed from Equibase which listed the Horse as scratched as did the Twin Spires program but in any of the betting pools from the track the horse was still running. In Twin Spires online program the horse was listed as scratched but if you went to bet it you still could. At most tracks the days scratches are done from the racing secretary's office that's why I said I was surprised this mistake wasn't caught on track before the race took off.

I just went to put in a late pick 4 at Thistledown with 5 dimes, in the last race they have the ml favorite scratched (#8) when hes still running and the #11 available to bet (12/1 ml) whos scratched.

The facts were reviewed, and this is pretty close to what the situation was after speaking with both the player and 5Dimes.
