I have seen perhaps 300 cases of a processor failing, and stiffing a player. In almost 100% of those cases, the sportsbook made it right.

If this case ultimately hinges on Betfair using a bad processor, Betfair would join BetEd as the only books to screw a player based on a processor. But at least BetEd folded after the fiasco.

For "bad processor" read "crook" in this case, assuming that Betfair DID pay him the full 3.5 million, which isn't corroborated. Betfair simply claim they paid.

I haven't seen anyone, including Anty or Justin, dispute that the money was paid by Betfair to Anty's nominated agent.

Do you have any sources which bring that into question?

If not, then at this point I think we should accept that the money was paid.

I am not going to comment on the case but I want to describe one recent episode. On Tuesday, September 25 mr Yevgeny Ulanov called and said “tomorrow your account would be closed so I advise you to withdraw funds. It’s the decision of our top management”. I sent an email to betfair customer service about this call from mr Ulanov they didn’t answer it. Lawyers advised me not to panic, so I decided not to withdraw and continue to bet.
Indeed on Wednesday morning they suspended my account. I couldn’t do anything, couldn’t withdraw, couldn’t cancel unmatched bets. I sent again several emails to their customer service, they didn’t respond. But in the evening they freed the account and happily announced “your account is fully active and ready for use”. Only they didn’t explain why they suspended in the first place. One week later I still don't know their reasons.
But some coincidence is that 26 September was the last day betfair should have responded to the complaint from my lawyers…

It might be the processor and not betfair, but from what I remember, I think the guy intended to take them to court.
