    Bodog upgraded to A?

Apologies if I missed the thread where it was discussed, but I could've sworn they were a B+ just recently.

Looks like Bodog has not been B+ for almost a year.

As I remember, it was upgraded a long time ago.
Not sure if the rating shows their true face. Used to bet there some time ago but switched to better bookies.

I think A is very fair.

I play at Bodog and 5 Dimes. 5 Dimes has more betting options it seems. But Bodogs layout is 10X better. Bodog it took me 5 minutes to send in my credit card verification, 5 Dimes I had to send it in, then call in to confirm. Bodog, I just request my money online, and know it's free 1 time per month. 5 Dimes I had to sit in live chat for 33 minutes just to get the 1 free payout.

^ Is poker included in the rating? I don't think it should be since it has nothing to do with Sports Betting.

I mentioned I played at only 2 sites. I play mostly at 5 dimes because I like all the different options I can bet on. Bodog won't let me take the saints -5 and move them to -2...5 Dimes will. Bodog doesn't have big ML favorites in College football, 5 Dimes does. Bodog doesn't get their lines up until 2 days before....5 Dimes had there lines up a week before.

Bodog has a better looking website, no one can say they don't.

Bodog Pays out pretty quick now a days. They have for the past year. I requested a check from 5 Dimes yesterday, and I am confident I will receive it just as quick or quicker than Bodog sends them out.

But either website is fine to play at. I don't hold grudges against a book, I have never had a problem at Bodog, and haven't had one so far at 5 Dimes. Bodog used to pay out slow, but that seems to have been fixed over the past year, so in my eyes they are a good, solid book to play with.

Bodog still offers patient & clever bettors the best opportunity, ironically...where to play DOGS.

Since the public will always be in love with favorites, especially NFL favorites, they often take advantage of their thousands of casual bettors by bumping the line 1/2 to a full point by gametime. It's worth joining for that reason alone. I don't make a move until I check their lines on Sunday/Monday.

Hope this "public service" announcement doesn't spread too quickly as I enjoy the current advantage. It will make the difference, especially on tight games to the line in the NFL.

Perhaps they should change the name to BetDog.

Obviously you don't actually bet at Bodog, because they deal dual lines and no one except the very new is able to bet those "good dog lines" at Bodog.

A book that deals dual lines and plays games with props (where they will only take one sided action and use prop bettors to set their lines and make up for their linesman's incompetence) should never be graded A on principle.

Couple questions for those that have been playing there recently (either players or forum Mod's):

    (1) there has been talk over the years of sometimes there being dual lines there. Has there been
    any word of that recently?

    (2) are they like SIA where at a certain dollar amount you are pretty much shown the door or are
they a little more liberal where that is concerned?

I remember Bodog being low limit and dual lining a few years ago. I'll give them a try again and see what happens this time.

Here's the current Bodog public, aka square lineset, compared to the regular lines everyone else gets. The only people who get the public/square feed are the people who regularly bet the favorites at the crappy prices. You can easily duplicate this yourself by using two different browsers and loading the lines simultaneously, with one account logged in, and the other not logged in with cookies cleared:

    NFL:

    CAR, square +3.5 -115, regular +3.5 -120
    DAL, Square +3 -115, regular +3 -120

    MLB
    ATL, square +1.5 -105, +205 regular +1.5 -110 +200
    TB, square +1.5 -160, regular +1.5 -165
    TB/NYY square ov9.5 -115, regular ov9.5 -110
    SEA, square +1.5 -160, +135 regular +1.5 -165 +130
    KC, square +1.5 -140, regular +1.5 -145
    BAL, square +1.5 -115, regular +1.5 -120
    CHC, square +1.5 -155, regular +1.5 -160
    MIL, square +1.5 -145, regular +1.5 -150
    CLE, square +1.5 -160, regular +1.5 -165
    ARI, square +1.5 -130, regular +1.5 -135
    COL/ARI, square ov10 -110, regular ov10 -105
    CHW square +1.5 -165, regular +1.5 -170
    LAA square +1.5 -165, regular +1.5 -170
    SD square +1.5 -220, regular +1.5 -225

Historically you'll only last a handful of bets on the public line feed unless you bet crap like the -1.5 lines at 5c worse than any other book in the world or lay those crappy NFL favorite lines, and it doesn't matter how small you bet. Even $20 bettors get profiled and switched to the regular line feed if they don't take the crappy favorite lines.

Yeah... my account is Buffalo +14(-115) vs. square account Buffalo +14(-110)
But you also can't get Buffalo +14 at many other books. It's -13 or -13.5. So they generally deal an extra half point or even a full extra point an a half, but charge slightly more juice if you're not a total square. Sometimes it works out and you can screw them over, just make sure they aren't screwing you over.

Both Buffalos were +14 -120 when I looked but money started coming in on Buffalo so it's now +14 -105 regular, square +14.5 -115, which is an odd way to deal it since those two lines are essentially the same thing. Pinnacle has +14.5 -110 on the pulldown, so even the Bodog square line isn't anything special. The square vs regular thing is more important on game day anyway since most squares bet on game day.

this past week, Bodog had Buffalo +14 (-115) vs. Green Bay, while other sites had 13 (a number which came down to 12.5 on gameday).

If you were looking at that line without having an account, that was the square line. Their actual line for anyone that isn't new was probably +14 -120. (In other words, the lines displayed on their website, on the SBR linefeed, etc are the square lines that nobody actually gets except new accounts or idiots. If you've just signed up, you will likely be able to bet those good lines once and then you'll be switched to the regular line feed.) Matchbook had lines as good as +13 -102 a couple hours before kickoff, which after commission is about the same as +14 -117. (The 13 is a very dead number.)

5 dimes looks like a regular cheaply done website. Now it's easy to navigate and simple to put in your bets. But Bodogs website has alot of color, and it makes it look more attractive. I think Bodogs site looks alot better, and don't see how there can even be an argument.

Very true. 5 Dimes is simple to use, and you can throw your wager down fast.

While browsing, looking at lines, 5 dimes is tough to look at compared to Bodog. But If I were to try and get a bet in and I only had 1 minute, It'd be alot easier on 5 Dimes than Bodog.

I feel bodog should be an A. You guy probably talking about what happen a little over a year ago when payment was slow and took a month or two. Now they are sending payment fast within 5 days at least fedex. If a book can fix a huge problem a year later that good in my book. I have gotten 8 payment in 2009 and 3 in 2010 on time.

Be careful live betting at Bodog--multiple people have pointed out winning bets have been canceled as "past posted" almost indiscriminately by Bodog.
