What exactly is involved in a Source of Wealth statement? This is one I found. Is the one you fill out for sportsbooks this thorough? And do you need to send in, as this one suggests, all the "supporting documents" for everything you've got? Even with everything kosher this looks like hours of work.

Yes that is the standard form Bookie.

@capitalistcpig, every mainstream licensed bookmaker is required to do this if red flags arise, under the terms of their license.

I only know what I am told and that's what I am told by a senior manager in there.

Same building, share support staff, does not equal same ownership in this industry. That is also a fact.

Have you got any other reason to make your claim? I think you're wrong.

Also Fox's question was related to if Bookmaker are the same as BetCRIS in terms of KYC procedures.

They are not. CRIS holds a Malta license and has to abide to the conditions of that. Which include SoW and SoF checks sometimes. Bookmaker does not.

Only reason I make my claim is because it is true. And the building ONLY has ONE book. Betcris/Bookmaker.
I am far from the only person that knows this.

If a Malta-licensed book told you they wanted a SoW statement, and you didn't want to send it, would they just send you your money?

And what tends to trigger these requests? Are they really common? Also, who besides Pinnacle is Malta-licensed?

Unfortunately no they wont. Once they have started they are supposed to finish. Everyone who can't supply the info tries to say just send me my money then.

I really do not know exactly how BetCRIS handle this stuff though. You can try it but would not get my hopes up.

Best to try and sound like of course you can comply no problems and just send what you can without asking too many questions. The person you speak to will rarely be the assessor. The form is not that complex btw. Just select one category and fill in 3 or 4 boxes. But be prepared to show proof of whatever you say. Avoid saying your income is gambling winnings as that is the hardest to prove satisfactorily.

What is supposed to set it off is anything that could reasonably be expected to make the book think you are betting more than you can afford, betting more than you earn, betting with the proceeds of crime or laundering money.

Every book in every mainstream jurisdiction is supposed to follow AML/KYC and Responsible Gambling guidelines, not just Malta.

It's not uncommon, but unless you are betting big money will be unlikely to ever happen.

Thank you for the clear answer Optional.

Do brokers like Odsy88 ever hit people up with these things?

UPDATE: After weeks of no answers from bet cris they sent my balance and closed my account.

A large stock portfolio was not sufficient proof for them. They wanted my initial investment in the portfolio. For me that initial investment was my gambling winnings. I have never had a job and I am almost 40 years old.

If not secret how long you are playing there and did you deposit big amounts recently? Have you even tried to prove them that your deposits are coming from winnings?

    Thanks

Also to support the idea that Betcris / Bookmaker aren't same bookie, would be the amount of SoW reports. It looks like Betcris is quite frequent, I didnt hear much about Bookmaker asking it. Correct me if I am wrong. Maybe be same owner, but different license comes with different regulatory requirements?

Compared to most regulated books, that is a decent result.

If Bet365 think you do not have enough evidence for them to justify to a regulator that you have been properly checked and passed, then they would not send your balance back.

I thought it was alarming when some books asked where you got your BTC from.... and you had to show proof.

Now they are asking for proof of wealth? I'm so aggravated in hearing this... I would totally fukk anyone up who got in my way telling me to prove my livelihood. I would spit right in that dudes face that asked me. They are lucky they are offshore. This isn't credentials in showing for a business loan apporval or buying a home... this is a wagering acct. Like fukkkkk you. I'd be like stick your bu#shi# book up your ass.

Ridiculous things they are asking for.

Wouldn't some tax returns be proof enough that the money is legit (assuming your funds are derived from sports gambling)?
