Play #48: [Brazil Serie A] Internacional vs. Sport Recife OVER 3 (-108)
Internacional has now gone six straight in league play with totals hitting 3 or more. They have scored 12 goals in their last five matches, while conceding 11 in that same span. At home, 5 of their 7 matches (4 straight) have gone to 3 goals or higher. At home, Internacional is averaging 2.29 goals & conceding just one per match. Recife gives up a little over two goals per road match and is netting one goal for their side per road contest. The big thing here I think is if Recife can score. In their 8 road matches in Serie A, they have scored at least once in 5 of those tilts. In their last 5 overall, they have tallied just 5 goals and been kept off the scoresheet twice. The good news is Internacional has allowed two goals in three straight home matches & appears to be in a scoring groove. This is one of those where I think getting to 3 goals will happen with the major question being can someone bang home a 4th goal. If Recife scores, I think the chances are pretty solid that this one clears 3 - otherwise, Internacional may have to do all the work themselves. 9 of Internacional's 15 Serie A matches have hit at least 3 goals with 6 hitting 4 goals or more, so it is possible. 8 of Recife's 17 matches have hit 4 goals or more.

Cork City hosts Shamrock Rovers as the two sides meet for the 3rd time this season in Premier League play. The 1st two meetings wound up with draws. It has been two months since the last meeting however and both clubs have gone different ways. Cork City is 3-3-1 since that last meeting while Shamrock Rovers have been white hot with a 6-0-1 mark in league play. Overall, Shamrock Rovers are on a 13 match unbeaten streak in league play and have only lost three times all season with the last coming to 1st place Bohemians at the beginning of May. Only Bohemians (twice) & Derry City have beaten Shamrock. At home, Cork City has lost 3 of their last 5 with one draw and their lone win against bottom of the table Bray Wanderers. Shamrock has drawn in 5 of their 11 road matches, but Cork City has drawn just once at home - to Shamrock and just twice in their last 15 league matches overall. Shamrock has not won at Cork City in the last 11 meetings with 6 draws & 5 losses. With all that, the most likely outcome seems like a draw, but Shamrock has been on a winning kick with 7 wins and 2 draws since the beginning of June. Despite the history of non-winning @ Cork City, I'm siding with Shamrock Rovers with the hope that at worst this winds up a refund of the original stakes if the draw hits again.

With Futura having just two clean sheets this season (none since May) and Mikkeli in a goal scoring frenzy, this one seems as if it will hit 3 to get that push at worst with a pretty decent shot to go higher.

This is the final tune-up for Napoli ahead of a Coppa Italia match this weekend. In four friendly matches prepping for the season, Napoli have gone over 2 goals just once. In the other 3 matches, Napoli has tallied just 3 goals while keeping 3 clean sheets. Racing Santander has had an almost identical run in their 5 friendlies. Just one match went over 2 goals and in the other 4, Racing has scored just one goal and conceded 4. This is Racing's final tune-up for the Spanish Primera season which begins at the end of the month, so I would expect them to play a fairly normal lineup. Napoli could be different with the Coppa Italia match this weekend likely to get more attention than today's clash, so a few regulars may be rested or see significantly fewer minutes. With Napoli defending well and Racing struggling to score, this one looks like it will be another low scorer.
