Play #30: [Norway Tippeligaen] FC Lyn Oslo vs. SK Brann Bergen DRAW (+230)
Lyn Oslo have been the draw kings of Norway's top league. Lyn has drawn in 9 of their 19 league matches this season. That includes 6 draws in 9 home matches, including 5 of their last 6. That includes taking a point from some of the league's top clubs in Stabaek & Odd Grenlend Skien - both top 5 in the table like Brann. Brann hasn't been stellar on the road recently, losing 3 of their last 5 with one draw. Brann has also given up 10 road goals in their last 4 league matches. Lyn may not be a goal scoring machine, but they appear to step it up a notch against the best in Tippeligaen at home. If Lyn Oslo had any wins at home, I might think about taking them +0.5 here, but it looks like they lack enough class to take all 3 points from most teams in the league.

Play #31: [UEFA Europa League] AC Omonia Nicosia vs. Vaslui OVER 2/2.5 (-116)
Omonia Nicosia enter the 2nd leg of this qualifier with a 2 goal hole after losing 2-0 on the road in the 1st leg. Nicosia scored 8 goals, 4 home & 4 away in the last round of qualifying against lesser opponents from the Faroe Islands. They'll need to press all match long in the hope of at least evening the aggregate score with two goals. Vaslui will know that scoring even one away goal could see them through to the next round, so while they will want to be careful to protect their lead, I would be surprised if they didn't push a little on their own to force the issue by scoring. Suppose to be hot in Cyprus today as well, so perhaps that could lead to some mistakes with players tiring in the 2nd half. With Nicosia needing goals & Vislui knowing that one could get them through, I think this has a good shot to at least win half the stake back with a 2 goal total and hopefully, Nicosia puts the pedal to the metal to try and advance here and either scores a ton or helps create plenty of counter attacking chances!

Play #32: [UEFA Champions League] Dinamo Zagreb vs. Red Bull Salzburg UNDER 2.5 (-123)
Zagreb hosts the 2nd leg of this Champions League qualifier knowing that they have an edge having scored an away goal in the 1st leg that ended 1-1. That means a scoreless draw or a 1-0 result will see them through. Zagreb has been stingy at home defensively with just one goal allowed in their 3 games played since the beginning of July. Salzburg has struggled for road goals as they have tallied just one in two matches in July and just two goals overall in 3 Champions League qualifiers. They did however sneak out a 1-0 win over Bohemians in the last CL qualifying round to advance, so that same result would do the trick once more and their coach has said that is their goal today. All 3 of their CL qualifiers to this point have hit totals of two goals or less. Zagreb did go over two goals in their lone home match in CL qualifying, but that was against lesser competition.

Thanks. Not looking great in the 1st half. 0-0 at the half of Nicosia/Vaslui. Probably be fortunate if they can clip the 2 goal total. Hoping Nocisia spazzes out in the 2nd half looking for goals.

Fortunate I think to only lose half the stakes on this one. Got a PK for a goal in the 85th minute to get it even 1-1.

Play #33: [UEFA Champions League] Maribor vs. F.C. Zurich OVER 2.5/3 (-116)
Zurich's defense since the start of their league season has been shaky at best. The Swiss side has yielded 10 goals in 5 games. The good news is that their offense has been able to keep pace with 9 goals of their own in that same span. The first leg of this CL tie found Maribor pounding home 3 goals which could have been more if a PK went in late in that one. The final was 3-2, so Zurich has work to do if they wish to advance and they'll have to do it on the road. Maribor meanwhile carried over their success from the 1st leg into their domestic league play in Slovenia as they trashed Nafta at home, 3-1. 3 of Maribor's 4 home matches since the start of their season have hit a total of at least 4 goals with the Slovenians tallying 9 goals and conceding 5. With Zurich's defense still in disarray and the road team needing to score goals here to have a chance to advance, there should be more goal scoring chances today.

Play #34: [UEFA Champions League] Shakhtar Donetsk -165
Money is following last year's UEFA Cup winners as they look to get things done on the road after a surpising 2-2 draw with Timisoara in the 1st leg of this CL qualifier. From all accounts though, Shakhtar had all the chances in the world to win, but failed. Timisoara scored on their two shots on goal, while Shakhtar had a ton of set pieces (15 corners). One would think if that happens again today, the Ukraines will make their Romanian opponents pay. Shakhtar was also saddled without their coach Mircea Lucescu in the 1st leg, but he did return to the sidelines as Shakhtar drew 1-1 in league play last time out. With their coach back on the sidelines for this one, I'm looking for Shakhtar to be more focused and to make the most of their opportunities. Having yielded two away goals in the 1st leg, Shakhtar knows they need a win to advance.

Thought Maribor would at least contribute a goal and that would have given me the full stakes win on the over, but I'll settle on the 1/2 stakes win with 3 goals being scored. Surprising that Shakhtar got booted today in a scoreless draw. Looking at some of the Brazil matches for this evening and no doubt also gonna put something on the Barcelona-Seattle friendly since it's on ESPN2 later tonight and I'll need something to watch.

Two clubs that have trouble scoring goals meeting this evening. Cruzeiro has scored just 6 goals over their last 5 matches in Serie A play. At home, they've scored 1 goal or less in four straight. Overall, their last 8 matches have had totals of 3 goals or less 7 times. Atletico's last 6 matches have fallen to 3 goals or less 5 times. On the road, they have just two goals in their last 5 Serie A matches and have been blanked in 3 straight. Overall, they have gone 6 straight matches without scoring more than one goal. Defensively, Cruzeiro & Atletico both have had issues, but have been able to hold their own against teams that have troubles scoring. These two squads rank in the bottom 3 offensively for scoring in Serie A. Their last meeting in October 2008 resulted in a 1-0 Atletico home win.

Another case here where you have a club struggling to score goals on the road (Vaasa) and another in Jaro that does not allow for much at home. Jaro has had their own scoring issues at home, getting blanked in four straight and scoring just one goal in their last five home matches. In that five match span, none of the games has gone over 2 goals. Overall, Jaro has failed to score in 6 of their last 8. Vaasa has just two goals in their last 4 matches. On the road, they are averaging just 0.5 goals per match, while conceding 0.75. Jaro is conceding 0.63 goals per home match, while averaging 1.38.

The first leg of this qualifier was a scoring fest with Odense snatching a 4-3 road win. That gives them a huge leg up heading back home. Odense's four matches, including 3 matches in Denmark's Superliga & the first leg of this tie, in July have all found totals of 4 or more. Odense has scored 11 goals in that span & conceded 8. Rabotnicki have scored 7 goals in their last two Europa League matches, but both were at home. They have also yielded 6 goals in their last two matches. Their lone road match with Crusaders ended in a 1-1 draw. This is a hefty total, but Odense is on a goal scoring spree and Rabotnicki has no choice but to go for goals in this one after conceding four at home. Hopefully, that leads to plenty of offensive opportunities.

So far, they have tallied 10 goals in 3 matches & conceded 8. Kapfenberger has been a bit more uneven as they've scored 3 once and been kept off the scoresheet in their other two matches. They have allowed 6 goals in league play so far, an average of 2 per match. With Linz having banged home 4 goals in each of their two home matches, it shouldn't be surprising to see them perhaps put up 3 goals by themselves. When these two teams met twice last Spring in Bundesliga play, the end results were 4 & 5 goals. Linz looks unstoppable offensively right now, so the real question to cash this is can Kapfenberger put one in? If they do, I think this one gets at least 4 goals. If not, hopefully it's at least a push with Linz doing the damage.
