I received a warning for points being given to me. I think we should pick a day and boycott this forum to show them who needs this forum more, us or them. One full day without any service plays being posted might get our point across to someone. Plenty of other forums on the internet with much better service plays!

That was my fault Tgunn. With the forum upgrades came the ability to send points via he daily topic thread instead of using the transfer system.

I figured if they re-activated this function it must mean it is okay to use it... I guess I was at fault for using logical thinking.

I will continue to use the old method as we never ran into trouble doing so.

Sorry for any trouble this may have caused.

      Thanks and good luck today!

I gave you a warning to give you a heads up so YOU wouldn't end up in trouble and losing your points...

So next time would you prefer I just stand back and let you end up in the crossfire?

Lol, why would you punish someone who received points? Can they control who gives them pts?

As I replied in the PM Blondie, I think the powers that be should turn the function off in the Service Play forums as it was a week ago.

It is difficult to figure out where SBR is going at times. If a function of the site is suddenly usable that was not functional before, it shouldn't be that surprising that the members will use it.

Nor should it be deemed a violation. It is a mixed message being sent out by activating the function.

I did not make the rules I just enforce them and thought I would be nice and alert tgunn to what could be a potential issue

Thank you Blondie for the heads-up. I'm not mad at you, just disappointed that this forum seems to be getting more difficult to enjoy instead of a pleasure. Too many rules and restrictions that other forums don't have, and last I knew all sports forum were on the same level playing field.

Exactly. This used to be the first place I used to come to find plays, but now it is the last. While other forums are posting play levels and write ups, all SBR does is complain about getting sued.

Tgunn if you find another place to post, don't worry - the majority here will follow you.

another solution is starting a separate blog with the plays posted daily, another popular capper with some followers did that, going successful so far (can't say so well with the plays though lately). Could be easily done, along with a 'donation' button for the poster for their work/cost.

just to throw out a possibility if SBR gets any worse.

Typical, "I didn't make the rules", garbage. I wonder how many have stated that. Certainly a shitload of historical examples jump to mind. I'm sick of seeing where you and others slice into a post that you did not author. Yeah, yeah, I know. . . "I don't make the rules pal I just enforce them." Sounds so much like a cop. . . "Don't blame me, blame the legislature that you elected." I know this requires some reflection and all but think spirit, letter, utility, and MODERATION.

And just what would you expect me to do when the rules are already in place. If I don't enforce them, I am not doing my job that I was hired to do. If I do, I have everyone pissed off at me. It's a no win situation.

Spirit, letter, utility, and moderation would be part of why I gave him a warning this morning just to give him a heads up so he wouldn't get in trouble for it. It's also why if I see someone that normally abides by the rules, I will edit the post and send them a warning or a reminder as I know that it was probably not intentional, they just forgot to edit out what is not allowed here or I just edit it and move on without giving them anything.

Thank you for giving my suggestion 30 seconds of reflection. It was more than I expected. Rigid enforcement of every detail is NOT required, you guys edit posts like it's your raison d'etre. Trust me, I ran a forum (much smaller) for years, when you learn to do less editing and policing things will slowly shape up.

Never mind. I, too, am getting burned out on this parade of college kids.

Contrary to what you may think I am not a fan of editing posts, and during the week don't really do a lot of it.

Sundays are the exception since Shari and I are the main two to mod this forum and we are both off on the weekends, making today a "clean up" day.

This forum seems to go in spurts. For days on end the majority of guys will follow the guidelines and not much will need done, then there will be the days where it feels like every other post is in violation and an uproar results.

Of course I will give your suggestions reflection, I am not above taking consideration and opinions into perspective when moderating. No one is perfect, and I know I am far from it
