Politicians don't care about those items because they can afford private security and they live and work behind effective walls and gates. They don't have to walk a dark parking lot or parking garage to get to their car late at night with absolutely no security guards around. They don't have to walk out in a street to avoid the homeless that have taken over the sidewalks.
They have fantastic cadillac health plans and retirement plans.
They make millions from insider trading.
They raise campaign funds and use the money to fill the pockets of their friends and family.

The non-elites in this country are so screwed.
