I guess it's the homeless dilemma. Judging what he will do or won't do with the money is not something I think is irrelevant personally. You either help someone out or you don't. I do understand if they have a history of being compulsive then that changes perception but sometimes people don't give enough credit to people that really want to make changes. Instead they just get labeled, rejected, and ridiculed. That is sad to me personally because people can change.

As far as wiring money to someone you don't know, well that is a risk you have to weigh. I think the payoff in the end is well worth the risk.

Does anyone here watch the Profit? I see this guy Marcus making investments in failing businesses and I'm sure that many still fail because they are unwilling to change but if you can help even just one start thriving again then that reward must feel amazing, not only from a financial sense but from a personal sense. The money he invests is probably pocket change to him but that reward in the end is so much bigger than just worrying about himself.
